Kate Middleton is showing her support for England amid the final of the 2025 Women’s Rugby World Cup.

On Saturday, Sept. 27, the Princess of Wales, 43, shared a post on Instagram, in which she celebrated the group ahead of their match at Allianz Stadium in London. (England later won against Canada.)

“Good luck England! 🌹🤠 Wishing the very best of luck to the @redrosesrugby in their Women’s Rugby World Cup Final at Twickenham today,” Kate wrote in her caption, adding, “We’re so proud of you! C.”

In the throwback image shared, the royal could be seen smiling wide and wearing a festive red hat while posing with members of the squad, nicknamed the Red Roses.

Princess Kate is patron of the Rugby Football Union, which governs the game in England. The Princess of Wales stepped out to support the Red Roses in their Rugby World Cup quest earlier this month and attended their Pool A match against Australia on Sept. 6 in Brighton.

The Princess of Wales was an animated fan and even participated in the wave as the move swept through the stands.

The Red Roses won 47-7 and Princess Kate congratulated them in the locker room afterwards.

“What an amazing game, well done everybody. It was a big nerve wracking, I’m not going to lie, to start off,” she said in a video that the Red Roses shared to X, in a quip that made everyone laugh.

“But no, incredible,” she continued. “I would have loved to have been here during the half time chat, whatever the half time chat was about. You did brilliantly, so fantastic. Amazing to have the crowds that you’ve had. You must really feel the energy from everybody, so hope you’ve felt the support.”

Princess Kate’s sporty outing that day took her and Prince William to separate rugby matches, as he went to the Women’s Rugby World Cup Pool B game between Wales and Fiji in Exeter on Sept. 6.

Princess Kate became patron of the Rugby Football Union and Rugby Football League in February 2022, taking over the first of Prince Harry‘s former patronages to be redistributed after he and Meghan Markle stepped back from their royal roles in 2020.
