Across his many years in the entertainment industry, Glen Powell doesn’t have many regrets — save for one decades-old reality TV appearance.

Speaking to PEOPLE at the premiere of Chad Powers on Thursday, Sept. 25, the actor, 36, opened up about what he would do if he got one “do-over” in life.

“If I were to get a do-over,” he tells PEOPLE, “there was a reality show I did when I was 15 years old called Endurance where I fell off the barn and I got kicked off on the first day.”

“I would do that over. You can look it up. It’s really sad. There’s definitely a video. Everybody watched it. You’re the only person that doesn’t bother me about it,” he jokes with PEOPLE.

Powell previously discussed his appearance on the Discovery Kids series while chatting with Stephen Colbert, who joked that his time on Endurance was one of his “earlier forays into the world of action that wasn’t as successful.”

“It’s really pretty hard for me to talk about, to be honest,” Powell said during the 2024 interview, visibly embarrassed. “I’ve never talked about this publicly ever.”

“The fact they pulled this out is shocking, but here we go,” he continued. “I was 13, I was on a show called Endurance; it’s basically a kids Survivor-type show.”

Powell said it was a reality show where they sent kids to Mexico, “and they pit them against each other.”

During his appearance on Colbert’s show, the Top Gun: Maverick actor admitted he doesn’t like talking about the show since he didn’t get far in the competition.

“I wanted to be on the show really bad, and I got kicked off in the first episode,” he said.

Powell was on the show for its first season in 2002 and only appeared in one episode.

In a clip shared by Colbert, a young Powell can be seen talking about a challenge involving monkey bars.

“I thought I could do it for a long time, but my balance didn’t think so,” he said during a confessional clip intercut with him competing. “When I realized I was going home, it was the worst feeling.”

Elsewhere in his conversation with PEOPLE in support of his upcoming Hulu sports comedy series — which follows a disgraced college quarterback (Glen) who disguises himself as “Chad Powers” to revive his career — Powell opened up about the big role his parents have played in his acting career and shared that they make a small cameo in the show.

“They’re fearless at this point,” he says of his mom Cyndy Powell and dad Glen Powell Sr. “I would say that they’re probably the greatest beneficiaries of nepotism that have ever happened in Hollywood. They are. They really expect it now.”

He continues, “They’re having a good time, and one of the things that gives me the greatest joy is having them on set. Having my friends and my family along for the journey is literally — it keeps it from being a job for me.”

Chad Powers premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 30, on Hulu.
