Glen Powell is not one to slow down.

Despite back-to-back big career moves over the past few years, the actor, 36, tells PEOPLE in an exclusive interview that he is not tired and continues to enjoy being booked and busy.

“As long as I’m getting to make cool things with people I love and collaborate with people I really am excited to team up with, and as long as I can keep doing that and stay in the game, and bring my family along for the ride, I’m super happy. I’m good,” Powell says.

“Everybody keeps asking me, like, ‘Are you tired right now?’ And I’m like, ‘No, I’m not, ‘ ” continues the star — who has partnered with Raising Cane‘s and Hulu to promote his new series, Chad Powers.

Adds Powell: “I’m happy. I’m in the zone, and everybody is filling me up with more life and more knowledge, and I’m getting to bring really cool things to audiences around the world. There’s just nothing better. It’s awesome.”

Powell, raised in Austin, Texas, began his acting career with small roles in film and television, including 2003’s Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over.

In 2014, he took a role in The Expendables 3, and a year later, he landed a lead role in Ryan Murphy‘s Scream Queens. Powell’s star power kept rising, and he took on more major roles — including playing astronaut John Glenn in 2016’s Hidden Figures and starring in 2018’s Set It Up.

Elsewhere in 2018, Powell was cast in Top Gun: Maverick, a sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, and the part was considered a “breakout role” for the star when the project was released in 2022.

Since then, Powell has been involved with various major movies, including Anyone but You and Twisters, plus Hit Man — which earned the actor a nomination for Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes.

Raising Cane’s

Powell’s upcoming projects include The Running Man, an adaptation of Stephen King‘s novel of the same name, as well as Chad Powers, in which he stars and also serves as co-creator, writer and executive producer.

The show follows a former hotshot college quarterback desperate for a second chance after he blew up his career with misbehavior. Adopting a new identity, Chad Powers, he attempts to revive his football career by joining a struggling team.

Chad Powers, a passion project for Powell, revolves around football, so the star teamed up with Raising Cane’s to host a tailgate-themed pop-up fan screening in the parking lot of the fast food chain’s Torrence, Calif., location.

“People that love college football and love the tailgate nature of things, they will bond over what a great sports story is or what a great underdog story is — and all the things that are thematically rich in Raising Cane’s are sort of the same things in Chad Powers,” Powell tells PEOPLE. “It’s just a home run. Well, I guess not a home run. A touchdown. But whatever.”

Chad Powers will start streaming on Hulu on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
