Dr. Amy Shah is helping women become the healthiest they can be when entering perimenopause and menopause — and she’s sharing her practice in a brand-new book!

On Friday, Sept. 26, Shah announced that she would be releasing Hormone Havoc: A Science-Backed Protocol for Perimenopause and Menopause: Sleep Better. Think Better. Feel Better.

The latest book from the double-board certified doctor-turned-social media influencer shares Shah’s “fresh, science-backed perspective” on navigating the challenges of perimenopause and menopause — the time before menopause when your body is getting ready to stop having periods and the time when a person is no longer menstruating.

“Dr. Shah moves beyond outdated narratives, presenting this phase not as an end, but as a window for optimizing health and longevity,” a synopsis for the book explains. “Hormone Havoc is a one-of-a-kind resource for women’s hormone, gut and nutritional health. By bridging cutting-edge research with accessible, actionable advice, this book fills a critical gap in the menopause conversation — one that has left millions of women confused, underserved and unheard.”

Speaking to PEOPLE exclusively about her new release, Shah says her inspiration for the book came when she sought out information about how to be healthy when it came to her hormones — and found that there wasn’t much out there.

“I wrote this book for all the women like me who felt like there were no science-backed, nutrition-focused solutions for hormone health,” she says. “I want to tell those women who think that their life is coming to an end, that as an M.D. and nutrition expert, I know that these can be the best years of your life.”

According to the author, Hormone Havoc is designed specifically for women aged 30 to 60, and shares the basics of nutrition that have been proven to help them thrive.

“Dr. Shah’s protocol supports your hormones by increasing key nutrients — including protein, fiber, probiotics and vitamins and minerals — to realign and nourish your body and heal your gut-brain connection, helping to reduce and relieve unpleasant menopause symptoms while dramatically decreasing the risk of serious diseases from heart disease to depression to osteoporosis,” the synopsis adds.

The book also lays out an easy, three-step way to remember the key nutrients perimenopausal and menopausal women need using recipes, “quick pause” strategies and more, combining “scientific validation with practical application.”

“It’s as easy as 30-30-3: 30 grams of protein in your first meal to curb cravings, 30 grams of fiber to diversify and strengthen the gut and 3 probiotic foods to balance the microbiome,” Shah writes.

But according to the medical doctor, “Hormone Havoc is more than a guide — it’s a movement to shift the cultural narrative, close the education gap and revolutionize the way we care for women in midlife and beyond.”

“Most of us are familiar with the challenges of menopause and perimenopause — from hot flashes, to mood swings, to anxiety and weight gain. But did you know that the latest science shows we can actually turn that transition into a time of vibrant health, clarity and renewed energy?”

As the publisher puts it, Shah’s book — which follows her 2021 book I’m So Effing Tired: A Proven Plan to Beat Burnout, Boost Your Energy, and Reclaim Your Life — “challenges the pharmaceutical-first paradigm and empowers women with accessible, food and lifestyle-based solutions” to address quality of life and give perimenopausal and menopausal women a new beginning.

“The best is yet to come — for me and for you,” she writes.

Hormone Havoc: A Science-Backed Protocol for Perimenopause and Menopause: Sleep Better. Think Better. Feel Better hits shelves on Feb. 24, 2026 and is available for preorder now, wherever books are sold.
