Campbell “Pookie” Puckett is facing backlash.

The influencer, known online to her followers as Pookie, sparked controversy after posting a vacation video on Thursday, Sept. 25, that showed the mom holding her 10-month-old daughter, Paloma, on a boat. Paloma did not appear to be wearing a life vest, as commenters pointed out.

Other posts from Campbell’s account indicate that the family, including Campbell’s husband, Jett, have been vacationing in Italy.

In the video, Jett from behind the camera can be heard talking to the couple’s daughter, saying “Paloma, it took your mother and I almost 30 years to make it to Capri — you made it in just 10 months.”

Continuing on, the family appeared to be boating underneath Capri’s Faraglioni Arch, with Jett saying, “They say that if you kiss under the arch, you will be together forever,” before planting kisses on both his wife and daughter.

“Love you guys but the no life jacket is stressing me out as a mom 😖🤣,” one worried commenter wrote on the Instagram post.

Another commenter made a more serious plea on the post, writing, “As a boat owner and sufferer of loosing [sic] a precious young one from drowning, please don’t ever, ever, ever trust the water.. life jackets always!!!!!!”

“What on earth ? No life jacket ? Listen to your followers in the comments,” a third person chimed in.

While there are no standardized international laws mandating rules about life jackets for children, the U.S. Coast Guard provides that any children on a recreational vessel under the age of 13 must be wearing a life jacket. Additionally, the International Maritime Organization stipulates that ships must be stocked with “appropriate life-saving appliances, including lifeboats, lifebuoys, life-jackets, liferafts and many others to be used by passengers and crew in case of emergency to protect their lives at sea.”

The Life-Saving Appliance Code also has requirements for certain design elements and specifications for life vests, though doesn’t specify any age restrictions.

Some expressed that despite Paloma’s cuteness, the video would have been made even “cuter” if she had been wearing a life vest.

PEOPLE has reached out to the Pucketts for comment.

The Pucketts announced that they had welcomed their daughter in November of 2024, sharing the news of her birth on social media. “My baby has given me another angel,” he said. “Daddy’s got two angels Pookie and mini Pookie.”

The pair first went viral for the way that Jett frequently refers to Campbell as ‘Pookie,’ with many online becoming enamored with the way he would spoil his wife.

In September, 2024 Campbell spoke with PEOPLE about sharing her pregnancy with her millions-plus followers, noting that it can be tough to film herself.

“It can be hard at times,” the mom-to-be told PEOPLE of having to deal with her evolving pregnant body. “Obviously there are days where you want to just not be on camera,” she admitted.

“I don’t really focus on any negativity. I just really do try to stay confident in myself — and the fact that I have my husband Jett, who is there to support me… he really is so encouraging,” she continued. “He genuinely is like that 24/7.”
