9-Month-Old Girl Shot and Killed Outside Georgia Motel

A 9-month-old girl died after being shot outside a motel in Georgia. Five people have since been charged in connection with the incident.
The shooting occurred on Tuesday, Sept. 23, in Cobb County, Ga., outside Atlanta, according to 11 Alive, Atlanta News First and WHSV.
11 Alive reported that a woman staying at the motel said that a mother rushed into her room, saying that her child had been shot.
According to the reports, the girl, identified by Atlanta News First as Aziah McDougle, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The outlets reported that Ladarrius Brown is charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the incident. According to jail records reviewed by PEOPLE, Brown is being held in custody on those charges.
Following Brown’s arrest, Jayvian Young and Camron Harris were both arrested, according to the outlets. Jail records reviewed by PEOPLE indicate that Young is charged with the same counts as Brown, while Harris is charged with tampering with evidence and making false statements.

Atlanta News First subsequently reported that two more men had been arrested in connection with the incident on Friday, Sept. 26. Jail records reviewed by PEOPLE show that Noah Martin is charged with murder and aggravated assault.
The other man, the outlet reported, is charged with evidence tampering.
11 Alive reported that the baby was hit in the crossfire between two of the men.
It is not immediately clear if any of the men charged have entered a plea or retained attorneys.
