Yungblud was thinking ahead when meeting up with Aerosmith.
During a Monday, Sept. 22 appearance on Loudwire Nights, the “Abyss” singer recalled the first time he met up with the classic rock band fronted by Steven Tyler. Yungblud, 28, likened the experience to a “first date.”
Yungblud, whose real name is Dominic Harrison, had been contacted by Brian May and Joe Perry, among other artists, after releasing the nine-minute-long song, “Hello Heaven, Hello.”
He had an idea for meeting up with the latter’s Aerosmith after Perry, 75, showed his support for the ambitious song.
“I was like, ‘Would you guys as Aerosmith be up for potentially doing a remix version of the middle section of ‘Hello?’ ” he recalled. “And what that turned into was us all getting on the phone, immediately hitting it off and then arranging to meet in L.A.”

Planning ahead, Yungblud booked a recording studio just in case creativity would strike while spending time with Aerosmith, unbeknownst to the band.
“It’s like a first date, you’re either going home together or it’s going to be a disaster,” he quipped. Early on in their meetup, Yungblud knew a musical collaboration was very likely.
“We got in the studio and ‘My Only Angel’ was written within 55 minutes,” Yungblud said of the song, which was released on Sept. 19.
“I’m in a vocal booth with Steven Tyler singing this chorus, going like, ‘What is going on right now?’ and then we come into the mixing room with a board and we go like, ‘Wow, we sound really, really good together.’ ”
“This explosion of color was coming out,” he added of him and Tyler, 77, trying to out-sing each other’s vocal range.
Tyler, Perry, and Yungblud joined forces at the 2025 MTV VMAs to pay tribute to Ozzy Osbourne, who died in July at 76. Alongside Nuno Bettencourt, they played “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home” in honor of the late heavy metal icon.
Less than two weeks later, they released “My Only Angel,” the first song from their upcoming EP, One More Time.

Upon releasing the first single from the upcoming EP, Tyler praised Yungblud as “outrageously talented” and a “positively wild animal.” “Here’s this kid that lives his life out loud…grew up on our records and the British invasion… and now we’re in the studio together creating something that bridges generations,” he said in a statement.
“He devoured all the same greats looked up to… and then he started to dream on. It’s as simple as that.”
One More Time drops Friday, Nov. 21.
