Scarlett Johansson is reacting after her scene from Marriage Story was used to help scare off wolves.
At the New York City premiere of her directorial debut Eleanor the Great on Wednesday, Sept. 24, Johansson spoke to PEOPLE about her upcoming crime film Paper Tiger — in which she stars alongside Miles Teller and her Marriage Story costar Adam Driver — and reacted to the viral news that their infamous argument scene from the 2019 film was used to scare off wolves by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
“Good,” the actress, 40, jokes of the news. “I’m glad we could be useful!”
As for reuniting with Driver, Johansson says that it was “great” filming with her costar over the summer.
“I love Adam as a person and he is an absolutely extraordinary actor,” she adds. “If I could make every movie with Adam Driver, I would.”

In the 2019 Noah Baumbach-directed drama, Driver, 41, and Johansson play a couple nearing the end of their relationship as they go through a difficult divorce.
The scene used by the USDA is particularly loud, as the pair scream at each other and Driver’s character Charlie even punches a hole through the wall as he tells Johansson’s character: “Everyday I wake up and I hope you’re dead.”
The Wall Street Journal first reported that the USDA had turned to unorthodox methods to deter a pack of gray wolves that were “terrorizing” an Oregon farm’s livestock.

Many of the wolves and predators causing harm to the Oregon ranch are endangered species and deterring them through physical harm is forbidden — so officials decided to play the scene, as well as other loud pop culture moments like AC/DC‘s “Thunderstruck,” over speakers and drones to get rid of the wolves.
Thus far, the approach has been fairly successful. Paul Wolf, USDA district supervisor in Oregon, told the WSJ that he has spearheaded a federal study on “wolf hazing” through drone use since 2022.
“I need the wolves to respond and know that, hey, humans are bad,” Wolf said.

Back when Marriage Story was released in 2019, Johansson told As If magazine that the scene was “brutal” to film.
“We spent two entire days screaming at each other, brutally screaming and fighting for two full days,” the mom-of-two shared at the time.
“It was exhausting, but if I didn’t have as strong an actor as Adam to take all the stuff I was giving him I would have been lost,” Johansson added. “For me, working with other actors is a really important part of what I do … it’s everything.”
