Kate Gosselin Reveals She’s Been Dating a Mystery Man for ‘a Little Over a Year’

Kate Gosselin is sharing a relationship update with her social media followers.

The former reality star, who rose to fame on Jon & Kate Plus 8, shed some light on her love life during a Q&A video she posted to TikTok on Monday, Sept. 22.

“And finally, ‘Am you dating?'” she began, prompting a question she said she’s often asked by fans. “The answer to that question is actually, finally, yes.”

“I [have been] dating somebody for the past … year? A little over a year, maybe like 14, 15 months?” she continued. “I’m super, super happy.”

While Kate didn’t reveal the identity of the new man in her life, she did confirm “it’s somebody that I’ve known for a really long time” and reiterated that she’s “very, very happy.”

But don’t expect to see her boyfriend in her social media posts anytime soon — at least, not prominently.

“He doesn’t really want to be in TikToks,” she added. “Can’t blame him really, I guess, but you perhaps will catch a peep of him, here and there, once in a while, going forward.”

Kate was previously married to Jon Gosselin from 1999 to 2009.

The couple gained notoriety as the parents of twins Cara and Mady, now 24, and sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah, now 21. They became a fixture on television with their reality show Jon & Kate Plus 8, which followed their family’s lives in Pennsylvania for five seasons between 2007 and 2009.

Following the couple’s divorce, the series was renamed Kate Plus 8, centering on Kate and the kids while Jon, 48, made some appearances. That show ran for six seasons off and on between 2010 and 2017.

Kate then had a short-lived spinoff of her own, Kate Plus Date, in 2019.

In recent months, the mom of eight has been letting fans in on her life away from the television cameras thanks to her TikTok account, which now boasts more than 250,000 followers.

Last month, Kate reflected on her 2009 divorce from Jon, answering a TikTok follower’s question about how to get through a divorce during one of her TikTok Live events.

“I don’t know if you have kids or don’t have kids, but I just, I made decisions based on how I would want to be treated, honestly,” she answered on Aug. 27. “And I didn’t buy into all the drama and the hate, and the ugly. And I had kids involved, so I wanted it to be as peaceful for them as I possibly could.”

“I did not hire an attorney that wanted to stir up trouble; I just wanted it to be peaceful, and I wanted the best for my kids,” she continued. “A lot of things happened that I could not control that did not turn out well for my kids, but I did my best. We just got through it to the best of our ability.”

Kate concluded that “it could’ve been a lot calmer and a lot nicer if everybody was willing to play nice.”
