A new bride says she was “furious” to discover that one of her bridesmaids “hijacked” her wedding photographer to shoot some professional headshots.

Sharing the story in a post on Reddit‘s “Bridezillas” forum, the bride explained that she discovered what the bridesmaid had done after the wedding when she looked through all the photos.

“One of my bridesmaids, after we did all the traditional wedding pictures and my husband and I joined the reception cocktail hour, whipped out a blazer, put it over her dress, and proceeded to have the bridal photographer take ‘just a few’ work headshots for her… for at least 15 minutes,” she recounted.

Because of this, she claimed, “our wedding pictures for the short cocktail hour are noticeably skimpy.”

The bride said the bridesmaid’s behavior has left her “furious.”

“That wedding photographer was EXPENSIVE, but more importantly that was just so rude!!!” she wrote, asking fellow Redditors, “Has anyone else dealt with this? Should I send her an invoice?”

Reacting to her post in the comments section, many readers agreed that the bridesmaid was out of line and “selfish” — but argued that it was the photographer who was really at fault.

“You need to talk to the photographer. That was very unprofessional and inappropriate,” one person advised the bride, while another said, “Take it up with the photographer. It’s unacceptable and you should AT LEAST get credit for the time they weren’t taking your pictures.”

“Demand a partial refund,” someone else agreed.

One commenter, who said they are a photographer, shared their perspective on the dilemma and how they handle such requests while shooting weddings.

“You need to take this up with your photographer. This was unacceptable for them to do,” they wrote. “If a couple asks me ‘can you snap a quick picture of us’ of course I always do provided it won’t prevent me from missing a shot of anything else, but a 15-minute photo shoot with an outfit change is beyond inappropriate.”

As for the bridesmaid, readers told the bride to either not give her the headshots or ask her to pay for them. “You own those photos,” one person pointed out.

They also urged the bride to reassess her friendship with the bridesmaid after her “entitled” behavior at her wedding.

Another commenter even joked: “I wonder how much photoshopping it will take to edit out the bridesmaid’s ginormous cojones.”
