The moment a cruise passenger got stuck in a waterslide is going viral, and “claustrophobic” viewers in the comment section are losing it

On Sept. 19, TikTok user @kaylamierzejewski posted a 13-second clip set to the popular Jet2 Holiday sound, which features Jess Glynne’s 2015 track, “Hold My Hand.” Users typically pair the trendy audio with video footage of their comedic holiday fails.

In the video, a fellow cruise passenger is seemingly stuck in a waterslide that loops around the side of the ship and extends out over the open ocean many stories below. The woman in the tube is laying on her back with her arms outstretched onto the glass. She is seen trying to scoot her way through the tube.

“Oh my god,” someone says in the background of the video. “She’s literally stuck.”

Since the post, the video has racked up more than 6.8 million views and over 238,000 likes.

While the original poster did not include on what ship or where the event occurred, the exterior of the vessel closely resembles Norwegian Cruise Line’s Bliss, which was on a seven-day, round-trip Alaskan cruise off the coast of Canada on Sept. 19, according to Cruisemapper.

Onboard is Ocean Loops — a double loop waterslide that “hangs 11 feet off the side of the ship and 159 feet above the ocean,” according to a company fact sheet. Thrill seekers stand on a trap door before the floor falls away, plunging riders through the loops and into a splash pool.

On the company’s website, Norwegian states a minimum height of 40 inches and weight between 120-300 lbs in order to ride.

In the comment section of the video, viewers were quick to show their concern for the passenger caught in the tube.

“I’m panicking HOW DID SHE GET OUT,” a comment with over 35,000 likes said.

Meanwhile, others shared how they would react if they were stuck in the same situation.

“I would die of a panic attack immediately,” one viewer wrote. Someone else added: “I feel like I’m suffocating just watching.”

Another stated: “Stuck in a waterslide over actual ocean water would send me into a psychosis.”

“I’m so claustrophobic, this is my worst nightmare,” someone put it simply.

This is not the first time a passenger has gotten stuck in the Ocean Loops. Previous videos on social media show similar incidents where the rider isn’t able to pass the initial loop, sending them backwards.

According to one poster, there is allegedly an emergency hatch located along the tube that an employee will open to help the rider exit safely. Norwegian Cruise Line did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment on the matter.
