All About Dak Prescott’s 2 Kids, Daughters MJ and Aurora

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott puts family above football, particularly when it comes to his children: MJ and Aurora. In fact, he was the MVP runner-up for the 2023 season, a feat he credited to “dad strength.”

Prescott announced he was expecting his first child with now-fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos in November 2023. The pair welcomed a baby girl, Margaret Jane “MJ” Prescott, in February 2024. Another daughter, Aurora Prescott, followed in May 2025.

“I’m blessed to have the opportunity to raise two girls alongside my fiancée, to have a beautiful family, a healthy family,” Prescott told reporters during a June 2025 press conference. “For me, it’s just about being grateful and not taking a moment for granted when I’m with them.”

Prescott and Ramos got engaged in October 2024, shortly before announcing that they were expecting baby No. 2 in December. Although having two kids under two can be stressful, parenthood has only strengthened their relationship.

“Obviously parenting brings a new element to your relationship because it’s not about you two anymore, the priority is your child,” Ramos said in a December 2024 interview with Sports Illustrated. “[Parenthood] makes you understand your partner on such a deeper, emotional level, and it’s definitely brought us even closer.”

Margaret Jane “MJ” Rose Prescott, 1

Prescott and Ramos became parents on Feb. 22, 2024, when they welcomed their daughter Margaret Jane Rose Prescott, whom they affectionately call MJ.

The following month, the couple shared the news in a sweet joint Instagram message. “Being your parents is the biggest blessing life has to offer and we are so fortunate that you are ours! Welcome into this world, baby girl, you will always be loved and protected! We are so IN LOVE with you,” they wrote alongside several photos of their newborn daughter.

The couple first announced that they were expecting in November 2023. “It’s super exciting, it really is,” Prescott told reporters during a press conference, adding that they were having a daughter. “I actually wanted a girl. Part of it, I think, was to not get too excited for a boy but, no, I do want a girl.”

He went on to say that part of his desire to be a girl dad was due to his close relationship with his mom, who died from colon cancer in 2013. “Obviously, everyone knows what my mom means to me so just being able to raise a little girl, I’m excited for all of the challenges,” he said. “I know it’s not going to be easy to be my daughter — or being a Prescott — but I’m looking forward to every bit of it.”

MJ was named in honor of both her mother, Sarah Jane, and Prescott’s late mother, Margaret “Peggy” Prescott. Just weeks after her birth, the NFL star told reporters that fatherhood had already changed him.

“I feel different,” he said during a Children’s Cancer Fund event in Dallas. “When you wake up in the morning and you see that baby, you understand responsibilities. And everything that I’ve always wanted for myself, but you want that for somebody else even more. Yeah, it’s special.”

Although it was initially reported that MJ was born on Feb. 29, which would make her a leap year baby, Prescott confirmed her date of birth was the 22nd during an interview with CBS Texas in August 2024. “I’m glad she gets to be celebrated every year. She deserves to,” he said. “She’s definitely changed my world.”

“I’m just thankful for the times that I get to be with her and be with the family,” he continued. “I understand the responsibility as a father that I have and I don’t take it lightly.”

In May 2024, Prescott and Ramos got matching tattoos for their firstborn baby girl. The couple each got a different version of the design, which depicts an “M” that turns into a “J” with a rose at the end. Ramos shared photos of their new ink along with several of their daughter on Instagram with the caption, “MJ’s world and we’re just living in it.”

Aurora Rayne Prescott

Aurora Rayne Prescott was born on May 22, 2025, weighing 7 lbs., 10 oz. Like her older sister, she was named after one of her parents. Her middle name was chosen to honor Prescott, whose full name is Rayne Dakota Prescott.

The following week, Ramos shared the news on Instagram.  “Our sweet Aurora Rayne Prescott arrived on her due date 9 days ago, 5.22.25 🙏 We’ve been soaking it all in 🤍 so beyond grateful and in love with our family of 4,” she wrote alongside a carousel of photos.

In his own Instagram post, Prescott gushed over his fiancée and his second-born. “Thank You God! Welcome, Aurora Rayne! May 22, 2025. God is Great. I love you @sarahjane and the Family we’ve created,” he wrote next to a photo of Ramos with their two daughters.

Ramos announced the news that the couple were expecting a second baby during a December 2024 interview with Sports Illustrated.

“It’s really special to be a female in this world in this day and age and to watch your siblings grow up and be empowered, taking notes and using you as an example, but [also] being themselves and growing into what makes them their own person,” she said, confirming that they were having another girl.

“It’s so beautiful to watch and I can’t wait to do the same with MJ and watch Dak become a girl dad, part two. He’s perfect. He’s the best girl dad ever,” she shared. “Fundamentally, I want my girls to know that being a great person will get you very far in life above all else.”

Becoming a mother was life-changing for Ramos, who called it “the most beautiful gift in the world.” For Prescott, fatherhood had the same effect.

“I understand the love my mom had for me in a different way now that I have kids,” he told reporters during a press conference in June 2025. “When you’ve had some of the adversity I’ve had, you’re so thankful — for everything. The good, the bad, anything in between.”

He went on to say that being a father has helped him learn to enjoy the little things in life. “It just makes me even more focused on the small moments.”
