Passenger Tied to Chair After Allegedly Attacking a Flight Attendant

An American Airlines passenger was restrained using duct tape after allegedly assaulting a flight attendant on her Las Vegas-bound flight.
On Thursday, Sept. 18, the United States Attorney’s Office District of Nevada confirmed in a press release that Ketty J. Dilone was arrested on Tuesday due to her behavior on an American Airlines flight from Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dilone allegedly assaulted a flight attendant and intimidated other flight attendants during her journey, which had a layover in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“On the flight from Charlotte to Las Vegas, Dilone was walking down the aisle and yelling,” the press release stated. “She allegedly started to verbally threaten multiple flight attendants.”
“Due to Dilone’s disruptive and threatening behavior, she had to be restrained in her seat with zip ties and duct tape,” the Attorney’s Office said. “She allegedly kicked a flight attendant causing the flight attendant to fall.”
Duct tape was placed around Dilone’s torso and legs after she allegedly kicked the staff member, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
“When the flight arrived at Las Vegas Harry Reid International Airport, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department officers responded and took Dilone into custody,” per the Attorney’s Office news release.

Dilone faces charges of “one count of interference with a flight crew and one count of assault by striking, beating, or wounding.”
A preliminary hearing is set to take place on Oct. 1.
Dilone could face up to 20 years in prison if she’s found guilty.
