Ariel has worked a myriad of creative jobs over the years. After studying sociology, art history and design, per her LinkedIn, she became an interior designer who even renovated her and Ned’s Los Angeles home in 2018.

“Ariel is the interior designer. I’m just here to have a good time,” Ned told the Los Angeles Times in 2019.

She went on to found her own vintage styling and design store, Fig + Stone, in 2015. In addition to her interior design work, she pivoted towards ceramics and launched her own studio, Ariel Fulmer Ceramics.

“With a keen eye for style and aesthetics cultivated during years of creating harmonious spaces, she seamlessly transitioned into ceramics where organic forms and rich textures come to life,” her website bio reads.

When Ned co-founded the breakout YouTube channel and entertainment group, the Try Guys, in 2014, he frequently included Ariel in their videos. In one 2016 video titled “Couples Give Each Other Surprise Hair Makeovers,” they laughed and joked with each other while getting mysterious new looks. The former couple also released a cookbook together, The Date Night Cookbook, in September 2021.

Prior to their separation, Ned thanked Ariel for her support over the years by sharing photos of them hugging backstage at one of the Try Guys’ tour stops.

“She’s supported me for years, sat through countless terrible improv shows, celebrated every milestone, been there for every setback,” he wrote in June 2022. “I’m so thankful for her love and support.”

“Five years ago today I married the most caring, intelligent and wonderful woman in the world,” he captioned a photo from their wedding in 2017. “The first five years were filled with laughter and love, here’s to the next fifty years. Happy Anniversary @arielmfulmer!”

One year before Ned’s extramarital affair came to light, Ned posted more photos from their wedding and wrote, “It’s our 9th wedding anniversary today!!! I love you so much @arielmfulmer.”

Ned and Ariel became parents when they welcomed son Wesley in April 2018. Two months after the birth, Ned announced the news by sharing a photo of him kissing the newborn’s head on Instagram.

“We had a baby!!! Please say hello to Wesley James Fulmer,” he captioned the photo. “Wes, we love you more than anything. You’ve changed our lives forever and we’re so happy you’re here!”

In August 2020, Ned revealed that they were expanding their family. He and Ariel announced the birth of their son Finley, who goes by Finn, in November 2021.

“We had a baby!!!!!!!! Welcome to the world baby Finn, we love you so much 🥰👶👨‍👩‍👦‍👦 🥰,” Ned captioned a photo of him and Ariel holding the newborn in the hospital.

Ariel was ‘blindsided’ when she discovered Ned was having an affair in 2022

In 2022, Ariel and Ned’s relationship changed when he admitted to cheating on her with one of his employees. Ned owned up to the affair after several people on social media shared photos and videos of him and the employee.

Shortly after the news broke, the rest of the Try Guys members — Keith Habersberger, Zach Kornfeld and Eugene Lee Yang — shared an emotional video announcing that Fulmer was “no longer” with the group because his behavior didn’t align with the company’s mission.

Ned initially released a since-deleted statement on Instagram where he called the affair a “consensual workplace relationship,” but he and Ariel remained tight-lipped for the following three years.

In September 2025, Ned broke his silence and told PEOPLE that he was “ready to share my story and to move on into a new chapter.”

“That was most devastating to work through and to realize — how much pain I had caused her,” he said of Ariel. “If I were looking at a past version of myself, how I’d really want to change [is] the way I’d been interacting with her.”

As for Ariel, she reflected on discovering the devastating news in her first public discussion with Ned on the Sept. 17 episode of his Rock Bottom podcast.

“I found out about your affair from the fans,” Ariel shared. “I was so blindsided that somebody sent me a picture, and I couldn’t — it was like my brain couldn’t compute. For some reason, I couldn’t see what was actually there. I thought it was your sister. And I remember sending it to you and being like, ‘What’s your sister doing in New York?’ ”

After learning the truth, Ariel recalled thinking, “How did I not see what was going on? What was so f—– up in my brain that I couldn’t see what was happening in that picture?”

“I just stayed inside because there were cameras everywhere. It was so unsafe,” she recalled. “It took a long time to get back to myself.”

Three years after Ned’s shocking affair, their spokesperson confirmed to PEOPLE that they were separated. Ned and Ariel later clarified that they have been mostly separated since news of the affair broke in 2022.

“We really haven’t been [romantically involved] at all these last three years,” Ned said on the Rock Bottom podcast. “There’s moments that we’ve kind of tried. But just because you go to a Taylor Swift concert together doesn’t mean that all is forgiven.”

In addition to talking about their marital status, the former couple also had an in-depth conversation about his infidelity and how Ariel feels about it three years later.

“People ask me, ‘Do you forgive Ned for what he did?’ And the answer is no. Absolutely not. How can you forgive somebody for lying to you. For cheating on you. No. F— no,” she said on Rock Bottom, while later adding, “Of course I’m still angry. We lost a lot.”

However, Ariel also explained that “forgiveness isn’t the goal” for her anymore, as she wants to prioritize their co-parenting relationship.

“We’ve been together for a long time, and you are the father of my two beautiful children, and we know each other really well,” Ariel said. “We’ve worked through a lot of stuff, and the fact that I can be around you and still have a good time and enjoy spending time with you and enjoy spending time with my kids — I think that’s a win.”

Ned added that it took “a lot of hard work” for them to work through his infidelity, but they’ve been able to reach “more of a platonic friendship.”
