Ted Cruz rips CNN’s Kaitlan Collins for saying ‘don’t have a motive’ for Charlie Kirk’s assassination: ‘That is objectively false’

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz tore into CNN anchor Kaitlin Collins and accused her of lying when she claimed that authorities “don’t have a motive yet” for the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Cruz snapped at Collins when she claimed on a Tuesday night interview on “The Source” that we’re still “waiting” for why Kirk was killed, allegedly by Tyler Robinson, a leftist accused of leaving a confessional to his trans boyfriend.

“Of course we know. Come on,” replied Cruz. “We don’t have a motive yet? Really? Really, that’s CNN’s position?

“He just happened to fire the gun in celebration? You can’t tell the motive here?” he asked sarcastically, referencing a MSNBC host’s sick speculation about the shooter, which led to his firing.

Collins pushed back, insisting that she just meant that “law enforcement hasn’t laid out a direct motive. They’ve laid out a lot of evidence here of these messages.”“Actually, they have,” Cruz noted. “They’ve said that he was a left-wing activist who hated Charlie Kirk.”

When Collins again pushed back, saying that “law enforcement has not put a specific motive,” Cruz chuckled as he replied, “They have.”

“That statement is false. What you just said is false. What you just said is false, Kaitlan,” he said, accusing her and the network of spreading “misinformation.”

“You just said law enforcement has not laid out a motive. That is objectively false. That is objectively false,” he said as she tried to talk over him.

“What you are saying is objectively false, and CNN should not be engaged in misinformation.”

Robinson, 22, was in a romantic relationship with his transgender roommate and had become increasingly political before he shot Kirk in the neck at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10, officials have said.

“I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out,” he allegedly told his partner about Kirk.
Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said it was “very clear” to investigators that Robinson “was deeply indoctrinated with leftist ideology.”
