Riley Keough and husband Ben Smith-Petersen secretly welcomed baby No. 2
Riley Keough and her husband, Ben Smith-Petersen, are a family of four.
The “Daisy Jones & The Six” star and her beau quietly welcomed a second baby earlier this year, a rep for Keough confirmed to Page Six Wednesday.
The baby’s name and sex were not disclosed.
Keough, 36, and Smith-Petersen, 34, first met in 2012 while they were both working on the film “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
Though the actress and the professional stuntman were reportedly introduced on set, they didn’t start dating until a year later while re-shooting for the movie in Australia.
Keough and Smith-Petersen announced their engagement in 2014 and, a year later, they tied the knot in Napa, Calif.
In January 2023, news surfaced that the couple secretly welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Tupelo, now 3, in August 2022 via surrogate.
Smith-Petersen alluded to their secret child while reading a letter Keough wrote at her mom Lisa Marie Presley’s funeral in January 2023.
“Thank you for showing me that love is the only thing that matters in this life. I hope I can love my daughter the way you loved me, the way you loved my brother and my sisters,” he read on behalf of his wife.
“Thank you for giving me strength, my heart, my empathy, my courage, my sense of humor, my manners, my temper, my wildness, my tenacity. I’m a product of your heart.”
Keough previously spoke about knowing that she wanted to have kids with the Australian actor by their second date.
“When I met my husband, he came out of the gas station on our second date and I thought, ‘I’m going to marry him and have kids with him,’” she explained on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” in 2023
The daughter of the late Lisa Marie Presley and musician Danny Keough said that though she couldn’t see the future, she knew “certain things [were] going to happen.”
“I just knew. We didn’t even say ‘I love you’ yet,” Riley recalled.
