Packers’ Jayden Reed out indefinitely following double surgery

Green Bay’s wide receiver room just took a massive hit.

Packers receiver Jayden Reed underwent surgery Tuesday to repair both a broken clavicle and a lingering Jones fracture in his left foot and is out indefinitely, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter

“Successful foot & clavicle surgery thank you god,” Reed announced on X on Tuesday evening.

The double surgery took care of a preexisting and new injury for the receiver.

The 25-year-old wideout had been powering through the foot issue — which hampered him for much of training camp — before he snapped his clavicle in the first quarter of Green Bay’s 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders at Lambeau Field on Thursday night.

“He’s going to miss a lot of time,” coach Matt LaFleur said after the game.

“We’ll see how fast he can recover and heal, and certainly I would expect him back at some point this season, but obviously it’s a big blow to us.”

Reed dislocated the same shoulder last season, though he didn’t require surgery.

He suffered the injury on what would have a 39-yard touchdown connection against the Commanders, but a holding call negated the score.

Reed led Green Bay in receptions and receiving yards in each of the last two seasons, and he paced the squad with three catches for 45 yards and a touchdown in their Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions.

Sidelined for the foreseeable future, Reed is still confident that his team still possesses all the necessary tools to compete for a championship.

“Packers to the Bowl, bruh,” Reed said while addressing the surgeries on Instagram Live on Tuesday. “I’m good, thank you for the prayers, bruh. But we turnt, bruh, we going all the f—ing way, bruh.”

Green Bay (2-0) will next visit the Cleveland Browns (0-2) on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
