Kim Cattrall Has Rare Public Outing with Boyfriend Russell Thomas in London

Love is in the air in London for Kim Catrrall.

The Sex and the City alum, 69, was photographed on a rare public outing with boyfriend Russell Thomas at the Jimmy Choo “Meet Me at the Bar” dinner at The Dover on Monday, Sept. 15.

The couple stepped out for the fashionable event with Cattrall wearing a sleek black dress with a turtleneck and long sleeves with suede booties, while Thomas wore a green velvet suit with a blue button-up shirt underneath and an orange pocket square for an added pop of color.

Thomas held Cattrall close as they flashed a smile for the cameras.

The Police Academy actress recently opened up about her relationship with Thomas, who is 14 years her junior, in a profile for The Times.

“We’ve been together almost 10 years now and we’ve had such a blast,” she told the outlet, reflecting on meeting Thomas in 2016 when she was recording an episode of Woman’s Hour at the BBC, where he was working. “We’ve just had so much fun.”

“He’s had an incredibly interesting life and really done it on his terms,” she added of him. “He’s a bit of a rebel, which I love.”

Cattrall previously told PEOPLE during the pandemic in 2020 that she and Thomas had grown very close while quarantining at her home in Canada, saying their life together was “just so easy.”

“I’m very comfortable around him,” she explained at the time. “He’s a firecracker and he’s got a wicked sense of humor. And he’s easy on the eyes!”

Having been married three times prior, Cattrall said of Thomas, “I love him. And he was worth waiting for.”

Cattrall recently celebrated her 69th birthday on Aug. 21, just one week after the Sex and the City revival series And Just Like That… aired its series finale without another cameo from her character, Samantha Jones.

Despite Cattrall not returning alongside former costars Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis for the continuation series, she did make a brief onscreen cameo in the season 2 finale.

There were other references to Samantha throughout the series’ run, though they were mostly namedrops from Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte or text messages supposedly from the character.

Cattrall raised eyebrows when she liked a comment from a fan on her recent birthday Instagram post saying she “carried the entire franchise” of Sex and the City as Samantha amid backlash to the And Just Like That… series finale.
