Hospitals and schools in York County, Pa. on lockdown after police shooting

An officer-involved shooting in Pennsylvania has prompted lockdowns at local schools and hospitals, according to officials and reports.

Authorities rushed to the 1800 block of Haar Road in York County after they were alerted that an officer had been injured around 2:10 p.m., according to CBS21

The Spring Grove School District said on its website that all grades are currently sheltering in place due to “an officer-involved incident” that is unrelated to students and schools.

Staff and students have since been advised by police to remain in the buildings as a precaution.

WellSpan Hospital in York is also on lockdown due to a “police shooting,” the outlet reported.

Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro advised residents in the area to adhere to local law enforcement as they investigate the incident.

“I’ve been briefed on the situation involving law enforcement in York County, and am on my way there now,” the Democrat posted on X just before 3:30 p.m.

“We ask those in the area to please follow the directions of local law enforcement and @PAStatePolice.”

This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
