Instead, the country queen appeared in a pre-recorded video message to address her health issue to the disappointed crowd from the comfort of what appeared to be her living room.

“Hello Dollywood! It’s me! I know, I’m here and you’re there and wondering why that is,” Parton said, smiling while dressed in bright clothing.

“I had a little problem. I had a kidney stone,” she explained in the clip, shared on X news anchor Marcus Leshock.

Parton revealed she was under her doctor’s order not to travel.

“Turns out there was an infection,” the singer continued. “And the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling around this minute… You need a few days to feel better.’ So he suggested I not go to Dollywood today.”

While Parton wasn’t physically there, she told the Dollywood crowd she was “there in spirit,” noting she had been “so looking forward to” the theme park event.

The “Jolene” singer reassured those in attendance that her health condition wasn’t serious.

“I’ll be back as quick as I can. Don’t worry about me, I’m going to be okay. Just can’t do it today,” she announced.

Dollywood revealed the superstar would not be able to attend the day’s festivities on Tuesday due to a “change in schedule.”

Parton was supposed to be there to announce Dollywood’s newest attraction coming in 2026, per Knoxville News.

Despite her absence, the company’s president gave parkgoers a preview of what’s to come, calling the attraction its biggest, most ambitious and expensive project yet.

They also noted the attraction “is the next step in the $500 million expansion plan first unveiled in 2021.”

Parton’s health issue comes six months after her husband Carl Dean’s death at age 82.

The Grammy winner announced his passing in March after nearly 60 years of marriage.

“Carl Dean, husband of Dolly Parton, passed away March 3rd in Nashville at the age of 82. He will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with immediate family attending. He is survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie,” she wrote in her social media post.

“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy,” her message read. “The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.”

Parton later revealed Dean had been suffering a secret health battle before his death, but did not elaborate.

The icon also stated she’s “found peace” with her husband’s passing and “doing better” than she thought she would.

Last month, Parton shared advice for fellow singer Kelly Clarkson, who recently lost her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, to cancer.

“I think you just have to be grateful for the years that you’ve had with someone and you just try to remember the very best of all that,” she told Entertainment Tonight.

“Take their energy that they have given you … and kinda just recycle that and let that become a part of you,” Parton continued. “Just honor their memory and just know they’re in a better place than we are these days.”
