Chase Chrisley took a big step forward.

During The Chrisleys: Back to Reality season finale episode, airing on Tuesday, Sept. 16, the 29-year-old Gold Drop founder was revealed to have checked into a rehab facility amid his ongoing struggles with alcohol. The revelation comes after Chase announced his sobriety earlier this year, following an arrest for alleged simple battery.

“There’s a lot of emotions,” Chase said while aboard a plane. “I just need to go and handle a lot of trauma that I have buried.”

“I just thought that I could bury it, bury it, bury it,” he continued, noting that he is “scared” about entering treatment. “I just gotta find myself.”

Chase’s dad, Todd Chrisley, was beside him for the journey. The 57-year-old Chrisley family patriarch even gave his son some encouraging words about the decision he was making, saying that today marked “new beginnings.”

“My life’s story is not going to be that I went to prison for 28 months. Your life story does not have to be that I had an alcohol and substance abuse problem,” Todd said. “That’s not your life’s story. That’s a part. That’s a chapter.”

As he landed, Chase kissed and embraced his girlfriend, Jodi Laine Fournerat. He also hugged his father before walking into the facility.

“You know, I thought going through this with [my eldest son] Kyle [Chrisley] would kill me,” Todd said, referencing Kyle’s past addiction struggles. “But maybe it was preparation for what I’m going through today. I’m sad, and I’m leaving [knowing] that I had to bring my son to a rehab. I’m sad that I’m getting on a plane and he’s not with me.”

“Even though we’ve been through a lot, I truly believe that God did not bring us this far to drop this off and that God will keep a protective edge around my Son and the healing hand on him at all times. It’s because that’s what I pray for all of my children every day and every night,” Todd added.

Sometime after his departure from the treatment facility, Chase and his sister Savannah Chrisley met over Zoom to have a candid heart-to-heart amid their ongoing tension. Chase began by apologizing to the 28-year-old Unlocked podcaster, saying he “definitely could have showed up for you more.” But a “blanket I’m sorry” was “tough” for Savannah to accept, as she expressed hope that they could actually “talk about it so we don’t get to the same place that we’ve been at.”

“I’m beyond proud of you. I’m beyond thankful for the steps that you took and the repsonsibility that you carried because, like, I was a mess,” said Chase as Savannah before tearing up, “I know that and I appreciate that. … I’m not truly happy with how I handled my stress and how it came across. … It’s always been said, ‘You’re the strong one, you can deal with it.’ I never wanted to deal with it by myself.”

“What I can do is show up for you now and in the future, because I can’t go back and change anything. But, I’m sorry, Savannah. And, I love you,” Chase continued.

“I love you, and I’m here if you need me,” Savannah replied as Chase responded, “You know I am, too. So, hopefully, this is the beginning of a new chapter.”

“I’m proud of you for taking the steps that you’ve taken. You’ve always had so much potential, if you just let yourself fall into and work for it, and I’m proud of you,” Savannah concluded.

By the episode’s end, Chase noted that he’s “learned not to take anything for granted.”

“I’ve learned that time is the only thing that money can’t buy back, so I’m not going to waste it arguing over small, petty things that don’t really matter at the end of the day,” he added. “And, that family’s really all you got.”
