CCTV Image Released of Missing Woman, 50, Who Vanished 5 Days Ago

Authorities are continuing to search for a missing British woman who hasn’t been seen since Friday, Sept. 12.

On Tuesday, Sept. 16, Thames Valley Police (TVP) released a CCTV image of the woman and identified her only as Fay, 50. It is believed to be her last known sighting after she vanished from the town of High Wycombe, 32 miles northwest of London, per a release.

Due to privacy reasons, police said they could not confirm Fay’s surname when contacted by PEOPLE.

“We don’t release the surname of any of our high-risk missing persons,” a police spokesperson said in an email.

Fay vanished after last being seen in the Totteridge Lane area of the U.K. town on Friday. “She has been spotted on CCTV walking down Totteridge Road at 10.41 a.m. [local time] the same day,” TVP said in the release.

Police added, “Fay is 5 feet 6 inches tall and of slim build. She has grey hair that falls just below her shoulders,” confirming she “was last seen wearing a grey top with a black cardigan, black trousers and black boots, and carrying a grey/cream bag.” 

“She also has two tattoos on each shoulder of a star and a planet,” the release noted, stating that her car had previously been found.

“Fay frequents parks in the High Wycombe area and is believed to be on foot as we found her car on Hillary Road,” the TVP said.

Inspector Hayley McEvoy, based at High Wycombe police station, said amid the ongoing search, “We are extremely concerned for Fay’s welfare and we have been working hard to find her since she was reported missing yesterday,” per the initial release published on Saturday.

Police have asked anybody with any information on Fay’s whereabouts to get in touch.

Thames Valley Police didn’t have any additional information to add at this time when contacted by PEOPLE on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
