Bella Hadid posts alarming pics from hospital bed
Bella Hadid shared vulnerable photos from a hospital room amid her battle with Lyme disease, and her supermodel sister, Gigi, offered words of support.
In several photos shared via Instagram on Wednesday, Bella could be seen hooked up to an IV in a hospital bed. In one snapshot, she covered her mouth in distress, and in another, she appeared flushed while covering her forehead with a wrap.
The Orebella perfume creator, 28, also shared pics of herself in a fuzzy Pikachu onesie, a pic of playing cards and a snapshot of a late pizza dinner in her hospital bed. A final photo showed her huddled in the corner of an elevator while nursing a coffee. “I’m sorry I always go MIA I love you guys,” she captioned the carousel.
Sister Gigi, 30, was among the first to comment. “I love you! I hope feel as strong and good as u deserve, soon!!!!!!,” she wrote. “❤️ Lyme warrior,” mom Yolanda Hadid remarked.
Pal Tallulah Willis also offered words of comfort, writing, “You are so loved sweet bean.”
Fans also took to the comments thread with words of encouragement, with one writing, “Wishing you love and healing! ❤️❤️.” Another chimed in, “Stay strong you will get past this Queen!!!!”
Though the Frankie’s Bikinis model didn’t specify why she was hospitalized, she gave a detailed update on her Lyme disease treatment in a similar post from a hospital in 2023.
“The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself🫶🏼,” she captioned an August 2023 Instagram post featuring photos of her getting treatment.
“Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain,” she continued. “To be that sad and sick with the most blessings/privilege/opportunity/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever.”
The supermodel detailed “almost 15 years of invisible suffering,” but said it would be “worth it” to be able to spread love “from a full cup” and be herself “for the first time ever.”
Yolanda, 61 — who has also been diagnosed with Lyme disease — revealed that Bella and her brother, Anwar, 26, had been diagnosed in 2012 during an emotional speech in 2015.
“This award is for Anwar and Bella,” she said while being honored at the Global Lyme Alliance Gala. “This is my token and my promise to you that I will not allow you to live a life of pain and suffering.”
Bella and her family members aren’t the only celebrities battling the chronic illness — Justin Timberlake announced his diagnosis with the “debilitating” disease in July.
Shania Twain also confessed in her 2022 Netflix documentary, “Not Just a Girl,” that she suffered “blackouts” and “dizzy” spells onstage before her 2003 diagnosis.
