Meet the Real-Life Partners of the ‘High Potential’ Cast
High Potential may be a crime show at heart, but fans stick around for the interpersonal relationships — and viewers are chomping at the bit for season 2.
The series, which premiered on ABC in September 2024, follows Kaitlin Olson’s character, Morgan Gillory, a cleaning personnel who gets tapped by the Los Angeles Police Department as a consultant after she tampers with evidence one night during her shift. She gets paired with rule follower Detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata), albeit their unlikely bond teases at a potential romance connection in season 2, which premieres on Sept. 16.
While Olson’s fictional love life is much up in the air, the actress’ real-life love story spans decades. She has been married to It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia producer Rob McElhenney since 2008.
Meanwhile, fellow costar Deniz Akdeniz married his wife, Riley Dandy, in 2024, and Javicia Leslie just celebrated her engagement to fiancé Nana-Yaw Asamoah.
Here’s everything to know about the real-life partners of the High Potential cast.

Olson, who stars as Morgan, has been romantically linked to her husband, McElhenney, for nearly two decades. However, the pair have an even longer working history as costars.
They met on the set of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and quietly began dating in 2006 — eventually, letting their costars in on the secret before marrying on Sept. 27, 2008. The couple share two sons: Axel, born on Sept. 1, 2010, and Leo, born on April 5, 2012.
“We’ve had our ups and downs […] And I can tell you that I love you more now than I did 14 years ago,” McElhenney told Olson during a joint appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in August 2022.
He continued, “As hard as it is sometimes, just like in any relationship, I will keep showing up and doing my best because I love you so much.”
In January 2024, Olson and McElhenney walked the red carpet at the 75th annual Emmy Awards together. “You are [a] goddamn smoke show,” McElhenney said of his wife on Instagram.

Sunjata, who plays series lead Detective Adam, is seemingly single in real life.
However, the actor is a father to two daughters — Keira and Itasia — per a May 2025 interview with The New York Times.

Judy Reyes, who joined the cast in season 1 as Major Crimes Lieutenant Selena Soto, has been in a decades-long relationship with film director George Valencia.
The couple have a child named Rey, whom they welcomed on Nov. 27, 2009.
While promoting the nonprofit organization, the Sound of Gol Foundation, in an October 2016 HuffPost interview, Reyes called Valencia “my creative partner” and “the love of my life.”
Reyes was previously married to cinematographer Edwin M. Figueroa.

Akdeniz, a.k.a. Lev “Oz” Ozdil, found love with fellow actress Dandy.
It’s unclear how they first met, but the pair have been together for over a decade.
Dandy shared that her “most favorite tradition” is revisiting the location of their first date and exchanging handwritten cards on their anniversary. “I think the kids we were when we first met would be proud,” she wrote in July 2024.
Two years prior, in May 2022, Dandy cheekily announced their engagement on Instagram with the caption, “For Deniz’s birthday we both got fiancés.”
The pair eloped in September 2024 in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
Javicia Leslie and Nana-Yaw Asamoah

Leslie — who portrays a Major Crimes detective named Daphne Forrester — is engaged!
In a post shared on Instagram, the actress called her fiancé Asamoah “an answered prayer.” Asamoah, a chief commercial officer at AMB Sports and Entertainment, popped the question during a trip to Napa Valley earlier this year.
Not one to spotlight her dating life, Leslie has stayed mum about their relationship, including how they met. Asamoa appeared on Leslie’s Instagram for a second time in June, when she shared a photo of the two of them kissing at sunset while vacationing in Italy.

Taran Killam plays Olson’s ex-husband and the father of their two kids, Ludo Radovic, but unlike his fictional storyline, the actor’s real-life love story is quite sweet.
He and Cobie Smulders, who met at a birthday party in 2005, have been married since Sept. 8, 2012.
“We were babies and we survived our 20s together,” she said during a September 2019 appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan. “I don’t know how that’s possible, but we did. It’s crazy.”
The couple share daughters Shaelyn and Janita, who they welcomed in May 2009 and January 2015, respectively.
Smulders teased that her role as Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has earned her double brownie points at home with Killam, who is a fan of the franchise.
“In terms of being in these movies, I will say that my husband, I think, finds me more attractive than ever,” she said at a screening of Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015. “He’s a comic fan. That’s his world — he loves it.”
