Giada De Laurentiis and Daughter Jade Cook Viral Snack Together in Adorable Video

Giada De Laurentiis and her daughter Jade spent some quality time in the kitchen.

In a new video they shared on Instagram on Monday, Sept. 15, the pair cooked Buldak Ramen, a brand of instant noodles popular on TikTok.

“Making the viral ramen Jade has been obsessed with… together 😂❤️,” the celebrity chef captioned the footage.

Jade, 17, jokes that her mom is “grumpy” before noting that they’re both “really excited” to try the trending snack. She adds that her mother will be the one to add water, since “she’s a pro.”

The Food Network alum then advises adding egg to the mix, to which Jade admits, “I don’t like eggs.”

“Yes, you do!” De Laurentiis insists, before Jade tells her mom, “Girl, I thought you knew me better than that.”

After De Laurentiis reads off the ingredients and they get a bowl ready for the dish, Jade recalls one of her mom’s sayings.

“Her motto is eat a little bit of everything but not a lot of anything, and I’m eating a little bit of everything,” she claims.

Once they pour the noodles into the boiling water, Jade observes, “I think people think it’s weird I call you Giada, but I really don’t mean it in, like, a serious way.”

As Jade adds a powdered cheese mix, De Laurentiis suggests adding “real cheese.”

Finally, the dish is done and they take a taste of what they’ve whipped up.

“It’s not that flavorful,” De Laurentiis assesses. “It needs some doctoring up. It needs bacon or pancetta, and egg — it just needs more.”

“It’s not bad, but it’s not on fire,” she adds. “It’s not ‘fire,’ or whatever you call it. What do you say, fire?” she asks her teenage daughter.

“Bomb,” replies Jade, whom De Laurentiis shares with her ex-husband Todd Thompson. 

The 17-year-old often appears in her mom’s social media posts. Last month, De Laurentiis shared a video of Jade roasting her past outfits. The proud mom has also shared clips to show off Jade’s singing talent.

Last fall, De Laurentiis told PEOPLE she was “truly impressed” with Jade’s musical aptitude, and was eager to find out what path she pursues. 

She explained, “I’m really, really fascinated to watch her because she is nothing like me. I know everybody says, ‘She’s like a mini you,’ but she really isn’t.”
