Cowboys’ CeeDee Lamb admits he had awful weekend

CeeDee Lamb wishes his season-opener had gone differently.

Lamb, 26, addressed his Week 1 drops with reporters on Thursday, saying that it caused him some sleepless nights.

“I didn’t get any rest really that whole weekend,” Lamb said. “Again, that’s the competitor that I am and how much I’m true to the game as far as being honest and just giving it everything I got because I do love this game, I love this squad, and I love the guys that I do it with.

“As for me, just holding my end of the bargain and just pulling through for the guys.”

The All-Pro wide receiver had four drops — including two in the fourth quarter — in the Cowboys’ 24-20 loss against the Eagles last Thursday.

Lamb finished the game with 110 receiving yards on seven catches with 13 targets, but his final two drops contributed to Dallas turning over on downs at midfield during their final drive.

“I’m definitely gonna look at this film and dread every drop, that’s for sure,” Lamb told reporters following the game.

“Man, that’s terrible,” he added. “Honestly, I can’t point no fingers at nobody else. I take full accountability and everything that’s gonna come with it. Because for me, as a player, I pray for moments like that and the ball to come my way, and, obviously, for me to not come up with it, it stings a little bit.

“But I will tell you, if you think I’m not coming back any times harder than this, you’ve got another thing coming.”

Footage surfaced of Lamb catching footballs from a JUGS machine the day after Dallas’ loss, a video that he said was intended to be private.

“That wasn’t supposed to go viral. I wasn’t doing that for no internet, to be honest,” Lamb said. “So I came in on a day when nobody was in the building, and I still caught a camera. I didn’t even know that the camera was there.

“Shout out to them. As for me bro, it’s going back to my fundamentals. I know what it is. I know what to do. Again, it’s Game 1, we got 16 more of these.”
