A nostalgic new flavor is joining the Girl Scouts’ cookie lineup.
On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Girl Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) announced that Exploremores will be offered for the 2026 season, PEOPLE can exclusively reveal.
The new sandwich cookies are inspired by rocky road ice cream, with flavors of chocolate, marshmallow and toasted almond–flavored crème.
PEOPLE editors tried the new treats, and enjoyed how the almond and marshmallow notes complemented the rich chocolate taste.
According to a press release shared with PEOPLE, the new cookie “captures the limitless spirit of exploration that drives Girl Scouts.”

Exploremores will be available nationally, both online and at local booths, during the upcoming cookie season.
The announcement comes after two other flavors, Girl Scout S’mores and Toast-Yay!, were retired following the 2025 cookie season.
S’mores combined graham sandwich cookies with a chocolate and marshmallow filling, while Toast-Yay! featured French toast-flavored treats dipped in icing.

Longtime favorites such as Thin Mints, Samoas (or Caramel deLites) and Tagalongs (or Peanut Butter Patties) will be making their return alongside the chocolatey newcomer.
The organization continues to encourage girls to develop creative and entrepreneurial skills through its cookie program, including setting goals, managing money and learning business ethics.
“With each cookie box sold, consumers are supporting Girl Scouts as they learn, grow and thrive through all of life’s adventures,” GSUSA said in a statement. “All proceeds from cookie sales stay local with Girl Scout councils and troops to help fund life-changing programs, experiences and learnings all year long.”
Girl Scout Cookie season runs from January through April, but local timing and availability varies. To find a booth in your area, visit girlscoutcookies.org or text COOKIES to 59618 for more information.
