Meet the Real-Life Partners of the ‘Alien: Earth’ Cast
Hulu‘s Alien: Earth focuses on familial ties over traditional romance, but off-screen, many of the show’s cast members are in committed relationships.
The new sci-fi horror TV series, which premiered on Aug. 12, 2025, is set in the Alien universe and takes place in the year 2120 — two years before the events of 1979’s Alien. Earth is now dominated by five mega-corporations, and scientific advances have given rise to experimental hybrids and cyborgs that blur the line between human and machine.
At the center of Alien: Earth is Wendy (Sydney Chandler), the first hybrid prototype whose consciousness originated from a terminally ill child. Her world changes when the research vessel USCSS Maginot crash-lands on Earth carrying alien specimens, drawing Wendy and a squad of tactical soldiers into a battle against terrifying creatures.
The bond between Wendy and her brother, Joe Hermit (Alex Lawther), forms the emotional core of the show. Once a human child whose mind was transferred into a synthetic body, Wendy retains memories and emotions but expresses them through the limits of her hybrid form. This leaves Joe torn between grieving the sister he lost and accepting the one she has become.
While Lawther’s character is dealing with heavy family challenges, off-screen, life with his partner is far less complicated. Meanwhile, his costar Timothy Olyphant has been married to Alexis Knief since 1991 after meeting at college.

Chandler, who plays the world’s first true hybrid named Wendy, is not known to have any romantic ties.
However, her family — particularly her dad, Friday Night Lights alum Kyle Chandler — is helping her navigate life as a rising star in Hollywood.
“My dad, I really look up to him,” she told Emmy Magazine in August 2025. “I never wanted to go into acting. When I told him I wanted to, he was like, ‘Absolutely not. Anything else, please,’ but he’s been such a great support.”

Lawther, who portrays Wendy’s human brother, Joe Hermit, lives in London with his partner, according to The Guardian.
The actor hasn’t shared much publicly about his romantic relationship. However, the outlet asked him to describe the best kiss of his life — to which he replied, “I like kissing so much, I don’t think I can name a single one, but I’m always looking forward to the next one.”

Essie Davis, who plays Dame Sylvia in Alien: Earth, has been married to Australian film director Justin Kurzel since 2002.
Over the years, the couple have collaborated on stage productions and two films: True History of the Kelly Gang (2019) and Nitram (2021). The two “admire” each other’s work, but never “pander” to one another, Davis told the Golden Globes in March 2022.
“Whenever I work with [Kurzel], he always expects the highest work, and he always raises the bar,” she said. “I feel that as we grow old together, we can continue to make more and more profound work together, and I hope that we get to do more and more together.”
Davis and Kurzel also share twin daughters Stella and Ruby.

Samuel Blenkin, who portrays Boy Kavalier, is single and focused on his blossoming career.
“I was so excited to play this role, because I don’t normally get to play people who have this kind of massive ego,” he told Mashable in August 2025. “I tend to play young people who are pretty broken and vulnerable in some way, so the fact that [creator Noah Hawley] gave me a chance to inhabit somebody who can walk into a room and do literally whatever he wants, I just tried really hard to get on set and embody that.”

Babou Ceesay, who plays Morrow, is married to former BBC journalist Anna Ceesay.
The couple share two children, and their daughter, Haddy, appeared in episode 5 of Alien: Earth. She played Estelle — Morrow’s daughter who died eight years into his 65-year mission.
Babou told Variety in September 2025 that filming a scene where his character revisits real-life letters and baby photos of his daughter was deeply emotional.
“[Hawley] was like, ‘What would you think if they’d use her letters, or they’d use a baby picture,’ ” he said. “Imagine, in that scene, I’m looking at that — it goes to another level. Even talking about it now affects me.”

Adarsh Gourav, who portrays Slightly, has been dating Radhika Kolgaonkar since at least 2021, according to Instagram.
The couple isn’t shy about their love on social media. In February 2024, Kolgaonkar gave Gourav a sweet shout-out on Valentine’s Day, writing, “It’s been such an adventure with you, my jungle boy. Here’s to more forest trails, blue waters and great restaurants with s— music. Love you.”

David Rysdahl, who plays Arthur Sylvia, and actress Zazie Beetz got married in 2023 after meeting in an acting workshop nearly a decade prior, per Essence.
The pair costarred in season 6, episode 4 of Black Mirror, as well as in 2018’s Dead Pigs and the 2020 film Nine Days. Their collaborations eventually led them to launch their own production company, Sleepy Poppy, per NPR.
Over the years, Rysdahl and Beetz have been open about the benefits of being married to someone in the entertainment industry.
“She’s my acting coach and I’m hers,” Rysdahl told Awards Radar in 2024. “We’re always reading each other’s material, giving ideas, having some wine and being like, ‘All right, let’s play it out. Let’s read the scene and just play it around for a while and find it.’ ”

While speaking to Women’s Health in May 2011, Olyphant reflected on his longtime marriage to his college sweetheart, saying, “You have to be with the right person, and you both have to be willing to put in the work, day after day, to make it last.”
The couple share three children: Grace, Henry and Vivian.
