University of Nebraska Tight End Proposes to Dancer on Field After Winning Game

The Nebraska Cornhuskers football team has a lot to celebrate!

On Saturday, Sept. 6, tight end Luke Lindenmeyer proposed to his girlfriend, Kailyn Storovich, who is a member of the Husker Scarlets Dance Team, on the field after their winning game against the Akron Zips.

“I couldn’t think of a better place to do it. To tell you I love you and I want to be with you for the rest of my life,” the football player could be heard telling Storovich in a video shared on the University of Nebraska–Lincoln football team’s Instagram account. 

Lindenmeyer hugged the dancer before getting down on one knee. He then showed her a ring box, and she covered her face before nodding “yes.” The athlete stood up and embraced Storovich as his teammates cheered in the background. 

Then, Lindenmeyer slipped the ring on his fiancée’s finger as her fellow dancers screamed in excitement. The newly engaged couple shared another sweet hug before Lindenmeyer asked to make a speech. 

“I play my heart out for you every night,” he told his teammates before gesturing to his partner. “This is the love of my life right here.”

Ahead of the proposal, Lindenmeyer told the cameraman that he felt “so nervous.”

“An unforgettable night for 44. Congratulations to @lukelindenmeyer & his new fiancée @kailyn.storovich,” the Huskers football team wrote on Instagram.

Storovich also opened up about the special moment in a post on her own Instagram, writing, “We prayed. He provided. Forever starts here. Thank you, Jesus!”

ABC-affiliate KETV reported that Lindenmeyer addressed his on-field engagement during a news conference after the game, during which he recalled, “She said yes. That was the best part.”

The Nebraska Cornhuskers played a strong match against their University of Akron opponents, winning 68-0. Lindenmeyer caught his first touchdown pass with his team in the second quarter, per Fox News

According to Lindenmeyer’s sports profile, he is a junior, majoring in finance. The tight end is set to graduate in May 2026.
