Lamar Jackson gets into wild skirmish with Bills fan

Lamar Jackson shoved an overzealous fan after they appeared to hit several Ravens players after DeAndre Hopkins’ late third-quarter touchdown during Baltimore’s season opener against the Bills on Sunday night.

The NBC broadcast showed footage of the fan smacking Hopkins in the head on his helmet and then doing it again as Jackson went by, seeming to get the Ravens quarterback in the face, causing the reaction.

Jackson immediately reacted by shoving the fan back.

“Sunday Night Football” play-by-play broadcaster Mike Tirico said on air that the fan “wasn’t celebrating at all” when he hit the two players on their helmets.

The fan in question was wearing a Bills Jersey and the incident happened in the corner of the end zone as players walked toward the wall separating the fans and the field.

There was no penalty assessed to Jackson for the retaliatory action toward the fan and it’s unclear if the fan was allowed to remain in their seat following the incident.

All of that occurred after Hopkins had just made an impressive catch to put the Ravens up 34-19 with just over a minute left in the third quarter.

Jackson sent up a 29-yard pass to Hopkins that the wide receiver pulled in with one hand and landed in the end zone for the impressive touchdown.
