Kristin Davis is opening up about her skin journey.
From her breakout role as Charlotte York on Sex and the City to becoming a mom of two, the 60-year-old actress’ priorities have shifted drastically over the years. These days, Davis all about hydrating and skin health, which is why she teamed up with IT Cosmetics to spotlight its SPF CC+ Foundation franchise.
The star says she discovered the brand’s hero product “a long time ago” when she was struggling with rosacea. “The fact that it could cover the rosacea and did not irritate it was definitely a game-changer for me at the time and took so much stress away,” she tells PEOPLE. “Because when you have rosacea, it’s so hard to control it. There’s so many things that trigger it.”
IT Cosmetics’ CC+ Nude Glow Lightweight Foundation remains a staple in Davis’ routine thanks to its sun protection and light, glowy coverage. The formula boasts an SPF of 40 and is formulated with skin-boosting ingredients niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and green tea extract.
“When I do get my five minutes to run upstairs in the morning, I can just put Nude Glow on because it’s just going to be fresh-looking,” Davis says.

The actress’ current beauty regimen is simple and effortless, but there was a time when she was preoccupied with her skin.
“In my thirties, I used to stress about my under eyes because a makeup artist at Melrose Place had told me that I was crepey under my eyes. And I was like, ‘What is crepey?’ I didn’t even know what that meant,” she recalls. “After that, I was always so panicky, like, ‘Oh no, I’m crepey under my eyes.'”
The concern caused Davis to experiment with a slew of products, resulting in skin sensitivity and redness.
“I tried so many different things, which is partly how I developed rosacea,” she explains. “I was trying so many harsh products on my skin in, I guess in an effort to look younger … I’d see something or someone would send me something and I’d think, ‘Yeah, I should try that.’ And that was how I ended up really making my skin so sensitive.”
“I’ve learned my lesson now,” she adds.
One of her biggest takeaways has been to not fixate on imperfections.
“If you chase one thing, you go down crazy rabbit holes,” Davis says. “No one else is thinking about that. And it takes a while to learn that, because when you’re looking in the mirror or you’re in a hair and makeup trailer for two hours in the morning, which is not a normal situation, you tend to hyper focus on little details. I definitely was guilty of that in my youth.”
Davis’ partnership with IT Cosmetics marks a new chapter in her life. HBO’s Sex and the City spinoff, And Just Like That… (in which she reprised her role as Charlotte), came to a close in August, leaving the star more time to devote to her podcast, Are You a Charlotte?
The podcast looks back at the beloved series that ignited her career, featuring interviews with cast and creatives and sparking discussions about how the show’s themes are still relevant today.
“I honestly would never have thought now that I would be rewatching the original Sex and the City and having so many thoughts and feelings and similarities,” Davis says. “If you had told me that in 1998 when we started the show, I never would’ve believed you in a million years.”
She adds that she’s not sure how she’ll feel looking back on the spinoff series in the future, but speaks of the “joy” she experienced on set.
“I know the joy that we felt making And Just Like That… . I know the joy that we feel when we’re together,” Davis says.
She continues, “So who knows in the future, but that’s my current reality.”
