Alix Earle’s 2025 VMAs Dress Required Her to Lie Down for an Hour-Long Car Ride

Alix Earle made a sexy mark on the 2025 MTV VMAs red carpet in a skin-baring mini, but reaching her destination proved to be a difficult — and hilarious! — endeavor.

The social media star, 24, shared a behind-the-scenes look at commute to the VMAs — which took place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, N.Y., on Sunday, Sept. 7 — with her entourage.

The video, shared to her Instagram, featured her lying stiffly in the back seat of a car to prevent her dress from creasing before she hit the red carpet.

“Outfit of the night for the VMAs. We have this Tom Ford dress, which I can’t wrinkle, so we have an hour-long car ride while I’m just lying back here like this. But I do have roadside drink service,” she said in the video.

Earle then demonstrated how she stopped to have a drink in the dress, and briefly sat up as a member of her glam team held out a red cup with a straw. The drink was kept as far away from her as possible to prevent spills.

“At the red light, I get a sip of Alix Earle Poppi and some vodka…gotta lay back down,” she added.

Earle noted that she was “dedicated” to the dress in the caption for the Instagram video.

The influencer’s appearance on the red carpet proved that her dramatic car ride was worth it — she showed up to the VMAs without a single wrinkle on her dress.

On the red carpet, the social media star was able to give fans a closer look at her outfit of the night, which featured wide openings on each side of the dress that extended to her hips and allowed her to show a heavy dose of side-boob.

Earle completed the look with pointed black slingback patent leather heels, and accessorized with a silver bracelet, dainty rings and earrings. She kept her glam for the evening soft, opting for peachy tones on her lips and cheeks. The star’s blonde hair was styled into a blowout with loose waves and worn parted down the middle.

Earle is busy training for the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars alongside her partner TK.

“I’m a little bruised and beaten, but it’s been so much fun,” she told E! News on the red carpet at the VMAs. “I’m giddy everyday I wake up and I’m like excited to get there and excited to learn more. I’m getting a little better each day, which is great to see some progress because day one was like, ‘oh god, I don’t know.'”

She added that she had a “breakdown” to NFL pro boyfriend Braxton Berrios about trying to “be sexy” during her dances.

“I was like, ‘I don’t think I can be sexy. I don’t know what to do. I need you to help me.’ And he’s so supportive and I FaceTime him any chance I get.”

The 2025 MTV VMAs air live from New York’s UBS Arena on Sunday, Sept. 7 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS and MTV. The ceremony will also stream on Paramount+.
