Abby Hensel’s Husband Says TikTok Confirming Baby News Is Fraudulent (Exclusive)
NEED TO KNOW
- Abby Hensel’s husband, Josh Bowling, is speaking out to PEOPLE about what he says is a fraudulent social media account posting images of his family
- The TikTok account in question recently seemed to confirm that Josh and Abby had welcomed a baby
- The post came after Abby and her conjoined twin sister, Brittany, were recently spotted carrying a newborn
Abby Hensel’s husband says that a popular TikTok account, seemingly run by his family, is fake — and that he and his wife have not confirmed any baby-related news at this time.
The couple recently came under much media scrutiny when Abby and her conjoined twin sister, Brittany, both 35, were spotted carrying a newborn baby while running errands last month. The sisters were then seen carrying a baby in a car seat several weeks later.
The twins, who are elementary school teachers, seemingly broke their silence on the situation in a TikTok post on Aug. 30, in which they wrote the word “Blessed” alongside a paparazzi photo of themselves carrying the baby.
However, Abby’s husband, Josh Bowling, exclusively tells PEOPLE that the TikTok account in question is fraudulent and that he and his family do not wish to comment on their personal lives at this time.

“We’re unsure who exactly runs it,” he said of the TikTok account in a statement to PEOPLE. “But I believe [it’s run by] someone who [downloaded] a significant amount of photos from my mother’s [Facebook] account.”

He went on to share that Abby and Brittany have never owned a TikTok account, adding that they all made their individual Facebook accounts private some time ago — which he said is why the TikTok impersonator account now only posts images that are already available to the public.
“They […] started using photos available to the media and everyone else. I can definitely guarantee that it’s not us,” he said.

He also told PEOPLE that he and the twins never bothered previously reporting the fraudulent account because it “wasn’t an issue” until recently.
“But as of late, it has been the source of drawing significant media attention we’re not wanting,” he said.

He added, “At first, we just assumed it was someone trying to make a quick buck or something, so it wasn’t worth saying anything. After [the] media believed [it] to actually be us, I knew I had to say something.”
Josh said that while he understands “the extreme interest” in whether his family has welcomed a child into their lives, he does not wish to provide comment on the matter at this time.
Abby quietly married Josh, an army veteran and nurse, in 2021, though news of their nuptials didn’t break until 2024.
Josh and the Hensel twins — who are dicephalus conjoined twins, meaning they have two heads but one torso and share organs and body parts below the waist — live together in Minnesota, where the sisters were born and raised.
