Lori Harvey is standing by her fashion choices.

In July, the 28-year-old attended one of Beyonce’s Cowboy Carter Tour stops in Atlanta alongside her father, Steve Harvey, brothers Wynton and Broderick Harvey and mother Marjorie. In an Instagram post dated July 15, Lori Harvey posted her full look, which was topped off by a hat that had many internet users questioning its appropriateness for a country-themed tour.

During a recent set visit for Hulu’s Onyx Collective original Reasonable Doubt, Harvey responded to the critics.

“I’m so glad you brought up this hat because if you do a little bit of research, my hat is actually on theme,” Harvey tells PEOPLE. “Western is not just about a cowboy hat, so, you know, and it was Chanel, so keep it cute.”

After internet users initially weighed in on her look, Harvey took to her Instagram Stories to respond. “IYKYK,” she wrote on a July 16 post, paired with a photo beside her mother, Marjorie. Next, Harvey posted a captionless photo of Salma Hayek and Penélope Cruz in their 2006 film Bandidas — a Western action flick set in 19th century Mexico.

Harvey, who also attended the opening night of the Cowboy Carter tour in Los Angeles, is a longtime fan of Beyoncé. While recalling how she met her close friend and singer Normani, Lori shares a story about attending the Coachella festival with her in 2018 — the year Beyoncé headlined.

“You want to know what’s so crazy? I missed it because I had to pee. It was like sardines in there,” Harvey explains. “I ran to the back [because] I have the bladder of a 2-year-old and could not find the bathroom. And there’s no service out there. So I’m not thinking, I separated from everybody and then finally, one of my friends found me.”

Harvey goes on to say that she and her friend tried to push their way back toward the stage, but it was just no use.

“We were all the way in the back and I heard [Beyoncé] coming on. I wanted to cry and we just couldn’t see. We ended up leaving early and went to Neon Carnival [Coachella’s afterparty]. I was devastated.”

Later this year, Harvey is set to make her Reasonable Doubt debut as Chelsea, an unpredictable force with a troubled past that resurfaces to challenge Jax (Emayatzy Corinealdi) in unexpected ways, according to a press release.

“I’m so honored to be here and to be a part of the show and this cast is just such a dream,” gushes Harvey.

Reasonable Doubt returns for its third season on Sept. 18.
