Yusuf Cat Stevens Cat on the Road to Findout book tour 2025: Best ticket prices

“Fathers, Sons” and “Hard Headed Women” welcome.

Starting Oct. 2, Yusuf/Cat Stevens will strike out on a nine-show tour in support of his forthcoming memoir “Cat on the Road to Findout,” which hits shelves in the U.S. and Canada on Oct. 7.

Early on in the brief run, the “Sitting” singer is scheduled to perform back-to-back nights at New York City’s Beacon Theatre on Saturday, Oct. 11 and Sunday, Oct. 12.

After doing a bit of digging, our team found that these two performances will be Stevens’ first in the City since September 2016 on his last North American trek, dubbed ‘A Cat’s Attic: 50 Year Anniversary Acoustic Tour.’ According to Set List FM, the Rock Hall of Famer delivered a career-spanning 33-song set at the Beacon Theatre while on that run.

This time around, Yusuf/Stevens will be something a little bit different. Press releases report that the 77-year-old will take part in “in-depth conversations” about the memoir and croon “select unplugged performances of songs” at all concerts. He also added on Instagram, he’ll uncover “other truths.”

In regards to the book, “Cat on the Road to Findout” follows Yusuf/Stevens’ artistic career from his humble beginnings in the ’60s as a recording artist to his mainstream fame in the ’70s to a near-drowning incident that influenced him to convert to Islam to his ’90s comeback.

If you’d like to see him live, tickets are available for all gigs.

At the time of publication, the lowest price we could find on tickets for any one show was $459 including fees on Vivid Seats.

Other shows start anywhere from $473 to $942 including fees.

While certainly expensive, it’s hard to put a price on seeing one of the greatest vocalists of the 20th century live.

Yusuf/Cat Stevens new music

In June 2023, Yusuf/Stevens released his 17th studio album “King of a Land.”

Amazingly, more than 50 years removed from his heyday, the gifted vocalist sounds just as powerful and lilting as he did on 1970’s seminal “Tea for the Tillerman” and 1972’s “Catch Bull At Four.”

The major difference is the production value; Yusuf/Stevens trades in stripped-down, sparse arrangements for fleshed-out, polished studio instrumentations. As a result, some tracks are majestic like the plaintive album opener “Train on a Hill” and stirring title track “King of a Land.”

Goofy rockin’ tunes like “Pagan Run” and “All Nights, All Days” seem out of character for the sensitive, serious star but are a welcome respite.

All that being said, the obvious highlights here are the two ditties that sound most like something Yusuf/Stevens would have recorded in 1971. They are the modest “Son of Mary” and singalong jingle jangle “Take The World Apart” that sounds like a Paul Simon outtake. Both are wonderful and worthy additions to your classic rock playlist.

More recently, Stevens has delivered a number of reissues and compilations. To dig into those throwbacks, click here.
