What September’s Full Moon and Lunar Eclipse Means for Your Zodiac Sign

Big things are coming with September’s lunar eclipse. This month, the full moon in Pisces — nicknamed the Corn Moon — will lead to some major shake-ups.

The Corn Moon arrives Sept. 7 at 11:09 a.m. PT. It will be a Blood Moon, when the moon falls into Earth’s shadow and becomes a dark brown, red or orange color. The event, which will take close to six hours in total, will be the longest total lunar eclipse since 2022. 

Celebrity astrologer Kyle Thomas tells PEOPLE that because the Corn Moon is also a lunar eclipse in Pisces, the water sign’s energy will be “infused” into our lives. 

“Pisces is the twelfth — and last — zodiac sign on the wheel and is the polarity of Virgo,” Thomas explains. “This means that both zodiac signs hold ties to our health — physical or mental — as well as the physical or spiritual world.” The situations that are culminating now will be connected to patterns that began with the new moon in Pisces, way back in February.

“Lunar eclipses are three times more powerful and emotional than full moons,” Thomas says. “They mark culminations, breakthroughs or breakdowns, triggering a crisis event that causes us to assess our most internal fears, feelings and actions. Oftentimes, some of the most memorable moments in our lifetimes take place near solar or lunar eclipses.”

The greatest intensity from this eclipse, he says, began to build on Sept. 4 and will last until Sept. 11. “We will likely feel very emotional or intense near this point in time,” he warns. 

If all that sounds too intense, Thomas says there’s a positive side to it. “The lunation is in a sweet trine with Jupiter. This brings joyous feelings, emotional growth and self-understanding,” he says. We might have a more positive mood or increased popularity and good news might now be just around the corner. 

But the lunation is also opposite Mercury. Thomas warns that “can create a significant need to balance our minds and emotions, but our feelings and moods may get the best of us.”

At the same time, there will be a “golden triangle” as Neptune will be conjunct Saturn and exactly sextile Uranus and Pluto. Thomas explains that situations that come forward during this time “can promote long-term growth, stability and progress personally or professionally.” Your intuition will be especially active. 

But Thomas warns that you shouldn’t try to manifest during an eclipse. “This is because the energy of eclipses is incredibly chaotic, intense and high-powered,” he says. Instead, let things flow, focus on your intuition and see what pops up for you. It could be just what you were waiting for.

Aries (March 20-April 19)

It’s time to let go of the reins, Aries. “Relax and recharge your emotional and spiritual batteries,” Thomas says. This lunation will be major for tapping into your intuition. “Listen to what the universe is telling you. If you’re sensing a hunch, you could be on the right path,” he says. To help sort through it all, Thomas says to write down your dreams or repeated déjà vu.

Taurus (April 19-May 20)

You’re the life of the party right now, Taurus. Thomas explains, “Prepare to have a glamorous, romantic and enchanting time. You’ll likely be surrounded by many friends, fans or followers!”

This eclipse is all about your social network and connections, whether that’s forming new connections or celebrating with those already close to your heart. “ A dearly held hope, aspiration or dream could also be within reach,” Thomas says. And for single Tauruses, Thomas says this is a great time to meet new people. 

Gemini (May 20-June 20)

You’re almost at the finish line, Gemini. Thomas says, “Victory is at hand. Get ready to soar higher toward the stars!”

This eclipse is all about your professional life, and it could bring “a promotion, award, accolade or new job offer,” he explains. Thomas added, “Hustle hard at this time; you’ll get very far now. If a job ends near this time, you’re being redirected.

Cancer (June 20-July 22)

There’s a whole world out there for you, Cancer.

Thomas says, “As the lunation arrives, you could be propelled to swim into new territory. This may energize you to book a flight and venture out or plan a fun vacation in the year to come.” Academic plans, legal project and media or publishing plans could also have some major shifts during the Corn Moon.

Leo (July 22-Aug. 22)

The money could be flowing for you this eclipse season, Leo. Thomas says, “A big payout, bonus, scholarship, inheritance or benefits package could be swimming your way. This could also bring news around your assets or investments.”

On the personal front, Thomas adds you’ll be feeling “sensual and intimate” because of this lunation, so it’s time to start cuffing season early and cozy up with someone.

Virgo (Aug. 22-Sept. 22)

Virgo, you’ve got partnerships on the brain. “A big turning point around a significant relationship could be at hand,” Thomas says. That might mean making a big commitment in your relationship, maybe even deciding to move in together or get engaged. 

“Singles could find someone with LTR-potential,” Thomas adds. But if you and your current partner aren’t alive, things might come to an end.

Libra (Sept. 22-Oct. 22)

It’s go time, Libra, as Thomas says this eclipse is time to “get busy.”

“The lunation is cranking your productivity up to hyper speed!” he explains. “You may be polishing off a big project for your employer, taking on more responsibilities or even leaving one job to begin another. Assess your work-life balance to make sure you’re not burning yourself out.” You might also look inwards, toward your own health or the health of a pet.

Scorpio (Oct. 22-Nov. 21)

Scorpio, this is a magical time for you. Thomas says, “The lunation will sing like angels from above. Romance, passion, pleasure, art, beauty and fertility all shine at this time.” 

If you’re single, this could be when you find your perfect match. For couples, Thomas says, “use this lunation to jazz up their connection for more sugar and spice.”

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21)

Keep your eyes at home, Sagittarius. Thomas says domestic concerns are going to be top of mind right now. 

“The lunation could cause a shift around your home, real estate, family or parents,” he says. “For instance, you may choose to move, redecorate or have a renovation.” But your home can also be a place to find joy; it might be the perfect time to throw a dazzling dinner party.

Capricorn (Dec. 21-Jan. 19)

Now is the time to trust your own mind, Capricorn.

“You’re likely to be busy generating ideas now,” Thoma says. “With this lunation energizing your mind, you could be debuting or working on a major intellectual, writing, speaking, advertising, branding or communications-related project. Launch your thoughts out into the world and watch who responds to you.”

Aquarius (Jan. 19-Feb. 18)

It’s all about finances for you right now, Aquarius, as Thomas shares, there could be major changes there. 

“This lunation will likely not only bring money in — but also cause you to invest it in the right places, too,” he says. “A raise, new client, new job offer or side hustle may appear near this time. If an income stream leaves or changes, use this energy to hustle to new territory.”

Pisces (Feb. 18-March 20)

You’re the main event, Pisces. Thomas explains, “As the lunation falls in your zodiac sign, you’ll be large and in charge!”

“A very important personal goal or dream may now be in reach — as well as a shift around a significant relationship,” he says, so go forth with confidence. “Now is the moment to step into your power, assert yourself and show everyone why you’re so beautiful, magical and unique.”
