TikTok star Jake Kind’s beloved grandmother Mimmy has died.

The content creator — known online as Goobi Gubbi — announced the sad news by sharing a pre-recorded video with his grandmother, where she says with her characteristic bluntness, “If you are watching this, it means I’m dead.”

“I had the most fabulous life,” Kind’s grandmother continued in the clip.

In a March 2025 interview with 6abc Action News, Kind shared that his grandmother had been diagnosed with several cancers.

Two days before Kind shared the news of Mimmy’s death, he told his followers that his grandmother was “in end stages,” adding that “the situation that she’s in health-wise, or lack thereof, I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.”

“I know it’s not just my family that’s going to be mourning this because we have shared a lot,” added the TikTok personality.

Kind’s TikTok posts with Mimmy date back to 2022, when he shared an inside look at the hilarious family dynamics between his grandmother, his mother and him while they moved. Over the next three years, Kind and his grandmother would regularly appear in videos together, where he would often ask for her take on popular internet trends or get her perspective on his life.

“It’s like a little living scrapbook, if you will,” Kind told 6abc of his posts with Mimmy. “We can just look back and see what happened three years ago — and it’s just so funny.”
