‘The Bachelor’ Alum Alicia Holloway Engaged to Juan Matallana

Congratulations are in order for Alicia Holloway and her new fiancé!

The Bachelor alum got engaged to longtime beau Juan Matallana in a breezy seaside proposal, she announced in a post on Instagram on Sept. 4. Holloway shared dreamy photos of the sunset beach proposal, where Matallana got down on one knee and popped the question with a classic oval ring.

“A MILLION TIMES YES!!!!!!!!😭💍,” Holloway wrote in the post’s caption. “My best friend, my soulmate, my twin flame, the absolute love of my life. I cannot wait to be your wife!!!!! It’s me and you forever baby!!!🤍🤍🤍”

Matallana had prepared a romantic beach picnic, flanked by flowers, greenery and delicate lighting. Holloway wore a halterneck white dress for the occasion while her new fiancé sported a blue linen shirt and linen pants.

Shortly afterwards, Holloway shared a video compiled days before the proposal. She wrote a number of “Is he proposing, or …” statements across the footage, voicing her giddy suspicions about traveling to Aruba, staying in “a stunning casita with a picture of us in it,” getting a couple’s massage, going on fun excursions and Matallana asking her to wear white for a sunset beach trip.

At the end of the video, she included a clip of the actual proposal, as Matallana got on one knee while Holloway tried to contain her excitement. The couple shared a kiss after Holloway eagerly gave her acceptance.

On her Instagram Stories, Holloway shared that Matallana proposed on Aug. 30 — the day before her birthday, her favorite day — because he knew it would make the engagement all the more special.

After she said yes, the couple returned to their room to a floral arrangement and an intimate dinner from Hotel Aruba’s Boardwalk restaurant. Their special trip together then took them to Colombia, where the couple attended a football match between Colombia and Bolivia. The home team won 3-0, and the new fiancés were joined by Matallana’s parents.

Holloway and Matallana have been together since 2021, per Bachelor Nation, and The Bachelor alum has chronicled their relationship via her social media ever since.
