Matt and Angela Lanter Welcome Baby No. 2 (Exclusive)

Matt and Angela Lanter’s family has grown to four!

The two have welcomed their second baby together, son Ford Hayes Lanter, a rep for the couple confirms to PEOPLE. Baby Ford was born on Thursday, Aug. 28, weighing 7 lbs., 7 oz. and measuring 19¼ inches long.

“We really wanted a somewhat unique name. We liked the idea of a throwback, all-American feel…maybe even a vintage, western, rugged sort of name,” Matt and Angela tell PEOPLE of their little one’s moniker. “We definitely had a tough time narrowing down our list of potential names.”

“After looking deep through our family tree, it turns out Ford is actually a family name! His middle name, Hayes, is Matt’s dad’s middle name.”

So far, the two say they’ve been adjusting well to becoming a family of four. “Ford came fast and furious into the world as a VBAC birth in Nashville, Tenn,” they say, referring to a vaginal birth after cesarean section.

Now that baby Ford is here, Matt and Angela are enjoying every small moment with their new addition.

“Slow mornings have been our favorite with our new baby boy,” they tell PEOPLE. “Just soaking up every single sweet moment with him. The hardest part is absolutely the middle-of-the-night feedings and trying to adjust to the lack of sleep. We’re hoping to find our groove soon!”

Matt and Angela, who are also parents to 7-year-old daughter MacKenlee Faire, announced they were expecting another baby in April. The couple shared a video montage of their history — from idyllic glimpses of their wedding day in 2013, to their life as a married couple, to welcoming MacKenlee in 2017 and their early days of parenthood.

The clip rounded out with a video of MacKenlee learning she’ll be a big sister — she opened a present containing a pink sweater and sonogram images of the baby, and gushed, “You’re having a baby? I’m gonna be a sister?”

The video cut to a family photoshoot, which featured Angela’s growing baby bump, Matt kissing his wife and MacKenlee holding the sonogram images. Each of them was pictured with a big smile on their face. Matt and Angela captioned the video, “The story of us.”

The couple shared another post hours later, including whimsical images from their photo shoot.

“Lanter- party of four 🫶🏼,” the caption read. “Our rainbow baby is coming late summer and we couldn’t be more excited. Kenny is taking her role of big sister very seriously and with good reason… She’s been praying for a sibling for years.”

Matt previously opened up to PEOPLE following the birth of MacKenlee in 2017, saying their first moments together as a family were “incredible.”

“As a dad, some of my most special moments so far are when she just lays her little body on my chest and falls asleep,” he said.
