Ireland Baldwin credits ‘bats–t crazy’ Hilaria Baldwin for saving dad Alec Baldwin’s life

Ireland Baldwin shared rare comments about her “bats–t crazy” stepmom, Hilaria Baldwin, in a new Instagram post.

The model joked about their unique bond while crediting the yoga instructor for “saving” dad Alec Baldwin’s life — and congratulating her on her new “Dancing With the Stars” gig.

“I wanted to take a second to talk about my step mom @hilariabaldwin,” Ireland wrote Thursday, alongside a photo of herself posing with Hilaria, her dog and one of her stepsiblings. “I think if people actually knew her the way I do, they would be quite surprised.”

The model, 29, acknowledged that her message “may come out of left field” for some people, due to her decision to rarely post about her family life on social media.

“Hilaria has had a far more complex and chaotic upbringing than she lets on and I think that’s why we’ve maybe bonded in someways? She didn’t always feel safe and seen. Sometimes, she is too loyal to a fault. She is eccentric and totally bat s–t crazy (in a fun way) but she saved my dad’s life.”

Ireland also credited Hilaria, 41, for “turning [Alec’s] health around” and bringing out the “compassionate” and “wonderful” parts of the actor.

“She’s taught him that he doesn’t need to suffer inside of his own head and stay stuck in his own past. That it’s never too late to admit you need help and it’s never too late to learn to be kind to yourself.”

The mom of one even revealed that the “Mom Brain” podcast host is the reason why she now has a “close relationship” with her dad and has given her the big family she has “always wanted.”

“She has always respected me, accepted my flaws, embraced me, and has always shown me kindness,” Ireland continued. “I met her as a teenager and I needed her as an example.”

The actress penned that she still “very much look[s] up to her now” and can’t wait to “cheer her ass on” when Hilaria Hilaria competes on Season 34 of “DWTS.”

“She deserves this! And it’s not my place to share the ins and outs, but this woman is a gem and deserves all the love,” she concluded her sentimental message.

Alec, 67, and Hilaria wed in 2012 and share seven children together: Carmen,11, Rafael, 9, Leonardo, 8, Romeo, 6, Eduardo, 4, María, 4 and Ilaria, 2. Hilaria also gave birth to the couple’s rainbow baby, son Eduardo, in September 2020.

As Page Six previously reported, this is not the first time Ireland has defended her stepmom over the years. She also spoke up when the yoga guru sparked backlash for self-identifying as Spanish and using an accent that many claimed was “fake.”

“It’s so pathetic that anyone would wanna play detective, and dig that deep into someone’s life that they don’t know, don’t know anything about, how they were raised, who they were actually raised by. It’s just kinda sad and pathetic,” she said in a video on her Instagram Story back in 2020.

“I have a great relationship with her. And she could be a really malicious, terrible, horrible human who tears people down, but she isn’t. Hilaria is a wonderful mother who takes great care of her kids, and she takes great care of my dad. And that’s really all that matters to me.”

Ireland and her father were estranged on and off for many years before their reconciliation, which the model credited Hilaria for helping fix. Alec shares Ireland with ex-wife Kim Bassinger, whom he was married to from 1993 to 2002.

The father-daughter duo’s relationship came to a head in 2007 after the “Blue Jasmine” actor infamously called her a “thoughtless little pig” in a leaked voicemail when she was just 11 years old.

Back in March, the “30 Rock” alum reflected on his contentious divorce from Bassinger, 71, and revealed “the most regrettable thing” was how it hurt his eldest daughter.

“I must say that because my relationship with my daughter Ireland was so negatively impacted by my divorce from her mother and having a very protracted custody battle that the media really were having a party about everything,” he admitted.

He recalled how the public court battle was “just insanity” and “really, really tough” on both him and his daughter.

Ireland and Alec have hit some rough patches in recent years despite mending their relationship.

In May 2023, Alec admitted that he “forgot” to include Ireland in a tribute he made to his children after prosecutors dropped involuntary manslaughter charges against him stemming from a fatal 2021 on-set shooting on the set of his film “Rust.”

Later that month, Ireland snubbed her dad on social media in response, tactically thanking just her “partners’ parents” and her mom for visiting her in the hospital after she gave birth to her daughter, Holland.

Despite their social media feud, Ireland introduced her daughter to Hilaria and Alec’s children in August 2024 and shared adorable snaps of Holland meeting her young “aunts and uncles.”
