Graham Linehan shares audio from arrest over anti-trans posts
“Father Ted” creator Graham Linehan shared chaotic audio from his arrest at London’s Heathrow Airport over three “anti trans” social media posts.
The Irish comedy writer launched into angry hysterics after he was taken into custody by five Metropolitan Police officers in England on Monday after arriving on an American Airlines flight from Arizona, the audio revealed, according to The Sun.
“It is alleged that on 19th April 2025, you published a post on X that was deemed to be intended to instill hatred and incite violence on the grounds of sexual orientation,” an unidentified bobby informed Linehan.
“What was the post?” Linehan, 57, asked according to the audio.
“I can’t tell you at the moment,” the officer replied.
“Are you f–king serious? I’m a f–king comedy writer. I wrote ‘Father Ted.’”
“You’re under arrest,” another officer said.
“Holy s–t. I don’t f–king believe it! I’m under arrest,” Linehan raged. “Do you know what this country looks like to America?”
The audio then becomes garbled as Linehan and the officers argue.
“I’m going to sue you into the ground,” the “IT Crowd” creator yelled and repeated several times.
The Metropolitan Police then try to calm Linehan down, but to no avail.
“I won’t f–king calm down! How dare you! How dare you!”
“I’ve been hounded by trans activists for years, and you guys are working for them. You f–king idiots,” he raged. “I’m f–king infuriated.”
After being taken into custody, Linehan was taken to a local hospital due to a stress-induced blood pressure spike.
The behind-the-scenes audio was released in the aftermath of the controversial arrest over alleged illegal posts to X.
One post from April 19 showed a picture of a trans rights rally with the caption, “A photo you can smell.”
Another post from the same day, he wrote, “I hate them. Misogynists and homophobes. F–k em.”
The following day, Linehan wrote, “If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.”
He fumed after he was busted, claiming he was “arrested at an airport like a terrorist, locked in a cell like a criminal, taken to a hospital because the stress nearly killed me, and banned from speaking online.”
The Metropolitan Police confirmed only that they arrested a man in his 50s at Heathrow on Monday for inciting violence.
