Alec Baldwin Jokes That ‘Jackson Pollock Has Nothing on My Daughter’ Carmen

Alec Baldwin is proud of his little budding artist.

The 67-year-old dad of eight shares seven children with his wife Hilaria Baldwin after previously welcomung his oldest daughter Ireland with ex-wife Kim Basinger.

In a recent profile of their Amagansett, N.Y. home for The New York Times, Alec heaped heavy praise on his and Hilaria’s oldest child — 12-year-old daughter Carmen — while showing off the family’s art room. According to the profile, the Baldwins began using an enclosed porch as a craft space for their children after Carmen arrived.

A large-scale piece that she painted during the pandemic is on display currently in the room, with Alec telling the outlet that he planned to have it framed and put on display.

He heaped praise on Carmen for her colorful and abstract piece, saying, “Jackson Pollock has nothing on my daughter.”

Pollock is the famed artist who championed the abstract expressionist movement of the ’40s and ’50s. He has become renowned for his artwork, which features bold splatters of paint across the canvas.

Like the famed artist, Carmen’s painting features bold splashes of color, in this case vibrant yellow and ultramarine with lines of magenta, white and more scattered throughout.

Carmen’s art will be in good company once it is framed. A portrait of Hilaria that was painted by Brendan O’Connell is already on prime display in the living room.

“I have to admit that I’m extraordinarily embarrassed that there is a gigantic painting of me in this room,” the new Dancing with the Stars competitor admitted. “It’s like, ‘Welcome to my living room. Here is a painting of me.’ ”

Ireland, 29, also bought her father a distinctive piece that’s on display in the yard, a Traeger Lil’ Pig free-standing pellet grill, which she purchased him for Father’s Day one year.

The pink grill — which is shaped like a pig and even features eyelashes — was a reference to the time that Alec referred to his daughter as a “rude, thoughtless little pig” in a viral clip. Her gift makes it clear that there is no bad blood between the two.

“My daughter, Ireland, has a great sense of humor, and she sent me that to commemorate some unusual moment we had together,” he admitted, adding that it hadn’t been used until recently. “A couple of weeks ago, Ireland, her husband and her daughter came to visit. Hilaria and Ireland have a similar sense of humor, which is at my expense pretty uniformly. So, we brought it out and cooked on it.”

The home is full of memories and distinctive touches from the Baldwin family. So much so that any consideration of listing it for sale has been squashed by the children.

“But we keep coming back here because the kids are very happy. They love it here. When I go up to the kids and go, ‘Want to sell the house?’, they go crazy,” Alec admitted. “It’s a kid’s home that I never want to leave.”
