Sasha Farber is okay with not being named a pro for season 34 of Dancing with the Stars.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, Good Morning America announced the 14 celebrity contestants who would be competing for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy when the new season launches on Tuesday, Sept. 16.

Farber, a mainstay on the long-running reality dance competition, is notably not a member of the cast.

“It’s not uncommon for pros to rotate seasons,” a source tells PEOPLE.

Although Farber, 41, won’t be dancing a Cha-Cha with another celebrity contestant this fall, he supported his colleagues by shouting out some of his favorite season 34 pairings on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday.

Photos shared by Farber included those of Danielle Fishel and Pasha Pashkov, Dylan Efron and Daniella Karagach, Scott Hoying and Rylee Arnold, Hilaria Baldwin and Gleb Savchenko, Jordan Chiles and Ezra Sosa, and Whitney Leavitt and Mark Ballas.

The dancer then shared a video where he spoke directly to his fans while walking on a trail.

“It is a beautiful day today. Guys, the Dancing with the Stars cast announcement was today. Wow, so many good names. Who are you going to vote for? I mean, I know who I’m going to vote for,” he said. “I know who you’re not going to vote for — That’s me.”

After telling fans “that’s okay,” he thanked them all for all their “incredible messages.”

“I read them all. I see it all. I adore you. I definitely don’t deserve you because you guys are amazing. I love you. Thank you so much,” he said before ending his message by assuring fans that they are in for “quite a season.”

“Like, who’s going to win? Anyone could win. This is going to be great, and I can’t wait to cheer. Love you all,” he said.

Farber got his start on the show in season 13, when he appeared as a troupe member. He would serve on the dance crew until season 16, before getting called up as a pro for season 17, in which he was paired with Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi.

He would return as a troupe member for seasons 18 to 21 before being called up again in season 22, during which he danced with Kim Fields. He was then paired with Terra Jolé in season 23 and Simone Biles in season 24.

Farber appeared once more as a troupe member in season 25 and came back for season 26 as a pro paired with Tonya Harding. In season 27, he danced with Mary Lou Retton. He was paired with Ally Brooke in season 28 and Justina Machado in season 29.

In season 30, he danced with Suni Lee, was paired with Selma Blair in season 31, danced with Alyson Hannigan in season 32, and was partnered with Jenn Tran for season 33.

Season 33 was initially a no-go for Farber, as he and Tran — whom he briefly dated — did not find out they would be on DWTS until the final hours leading up to the cast reveal.
