Meet the Real-Life Partners of the ‘NCIS: Tony & Ziva’ Cast

NCIS: Tony & Ziva explores love and parenting, which much of the cast has experienced in their lives off-screen.

The highly anticipated spinoff, the seventh in the NCIS franchise, premiered on Sept. 4, bringing back Michael Weatherly as Anthony “Tony” DiNozzo and Cote de Pablo as Ziva David. The rest of the cast includes Amita Suman, Maximilian Osinski, Nassima Benchicou, Julian Ovenden, Terence Maynard, Lara Rossi and James D’Arcy.

The Paramount+ original series reunites the titular duo on-screen for the first time in over a decade as they navigate raising their 12-year-old daughter, Tali (Isla Gie), together in Paris while in an on-again, off-again relationship.

In real life, Weatherly married his wife, Bojana Janković, in 2009. The actor has kept his professional and personal lives separate throughout his career. “I don’t bring my work home,” he told PEOPLE in 2017. “I’m a single-track-mind person, so at work I do my work, but at home I’m devoted to my kids.”

Here’s everything to know about the real-life partners of the NCIS: Tony & Ziva cast.

Weatherly, who portrayed special agent Anthony DiNozzo for 13 seasons on NCIS, has been married to Janković since Sept. 30, 2009.

They first crossed paths in Vancouver, Canada, two years prior. “I kept looking out of the corner of my eye and seeing this ravishing, gorgeous beauty,” the actor recalled to PEOPLE in 2010.

“We made eye contact,” Janković added. “And that was it.”

After meeting, they were in a long-distance relationship before Janković relocated to Los Angeles ahead of their wedding.

The couple welcomed their daughter, Olivia, on April 10, 2012, followed by their son Liam on Oct. 29, 2013. Weatherly is also a father to son August, whom he shares with ex-wife Amelia Heinle.

After leaving NCIS in 2016, Weatherly told PEOPLE that his kids were “very excited” to spend more time with him.

Cote de Pablo

De Pablo was part of the NCIS cast as special agent Ziva David before exiting in season 11. Over the years, she has kept her personal life private and was last romantically linked to actor Diego Serrano.

Most recently, de Pablo’s focus has been on reprising her role in NCIS: Tony & Ziva. In a May 2024 Instagram video, she and Weatherly teased what fans could look forward to in the new show.

“[They can] expect intrigue, romance, the background of Europe, impossible situations that will make our life very complicated but somehow a little something about love,” the actress shared.

As NCIS fans know, de Pablo’s character Ziva appeared to be killed off-screen in season 13, before she was revealed to be alive in season 16 when she returned to the series. The actress had a recurring role in several episodes in season 17.

Osinski, who joins the cast of NCIS: Tony & Ziva as a Russian ex-pat and elusive computer hacker Boris, spends his time off-screen with his wife, Severance actress Dichen Lachman.

The actor, also known for his role as Zava on Ted Lasso, spoke about him and his wife finding success as cast members on their respective Apple TV+ series.

“It’s pretty crazy. When I got Ted Lasso, we knew what it was. When she got Severance, we knew that the pedigree of people involved was amazing, but you never know what’ll hit,” he told Variety in March 2023.

He added, “And I knew there was something special when I was filming and cast members on my show were talking about Severance, and they didn’t know she was my wife.”

Osinski and Lachman married on Jan. 24, 2015, and welcomed their daughter, Mathilda, that same May, according to a Palm Springs Live interview.

Julian Ovenden and Kate Royal

Ovenden — who plays Jonah, a former computer programmer for the NSA turned secretary general of Interpol, in NCIS: Tony & Ziva — has been married to his wife Kate Royal since 2010.

Seven years before tying the knot, the couple met at a pub outside of London, though they already knew of each other through mutual friends.

“Julian and I had a lot of mutual friends, so I had heard a great deal about him and always thought he sounded like my perfect match,” Royal, an opera singer, told the Daily Mail in January 2011.

She added, “I admire his extraordinary musical talent and gift for performing, added to which I simply couldn’t imagine being with someone who was not musical, who didn’t understand the way it travels with you through life.”

Ovenden’s father, Reverend Canon John Ovenden, a former chaplain to Queen Elizabeth, officiated the couple’s nuptials on Dec. 20, 2010, at a chapel in Windsor Great Park.

The couple are parents to a son, Johnny Beau, born in October 2009, and a daughter, Audrey, born two years later, per the Little Known Facts podcast.

Suman portrays tech-savvy Claudette, the chief technical officer at Tony’s private security company. In real life, she appears to be single.

During a March 2023 interview with Schön! Magazine, while discussing her role in Shadow and Bone as Inej Ghafa, Suman spoke about the best dating advice she’s received.

“Find someone who celebrates your individuality rather than tries to change you,” she shared at the time. “Someone who can be loyal and give you full commitment.”

Lara Rossi

Lara Rossi plays Sophie, Tali’s caretaker, who has a skilled professional background. Off-screen, she is married, according to her Instagram bio.

In February 2022, the actress revealed her pregnancy on Instagram, sharing a selfie highlighting her baby bump, and writing in the caption that she was “98% baked.”

She typically keeps her personal life on the private side, but did reflect on motherhood in October 2023 with an Instagram caption dedicated to her love of cycling, writing, “Since becoming a mother, moments to myself are few, rare even. I’m grateful for everything today.”

“For my son, for my time, for the speed still locked in my thighs. I wish, more than anything, we could all experience freedom, that truly unique sense of abandon,” she continued. “It should not be a luxury.”

Anne-Marie Waldeck

While sharing a selfie on Instagram with costars Osinski, whom she called her “partner in crime,” and the “most amazing” Weatherly and de Pablo, Waldeck teased that the series would be “fun, bold, and just the right amount of trouble.”
