Man Kills Ex, Then Self, in Front of Their 10-Month-Old Baby — Then Family Has to Clean Up Blood

A Michigan family is grieving the loss of a young mother who was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend in front of their baby daughter, before he took his own life.

Police in Hamtramck responding to a call about a shooting discovered two people dead from gunshot wounds on Aug. 29, the Hamtramck Police Department said in a statement.

The victim was identified by her family as Brianna Frame, 24, according to WDIV and a GoFundMe set up by the family. The Hamtramck Police Department did not identify the victim or the shooter in its post and did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

Her brother, Donald Frame, told WDIV that he was there when her sister was killed.

“She’s screaming, and then I saw him shoot her in the face,” he told the outlet. “And then I went to grab my dad, and then I told him that she’s been shot.”

Brianna was killed by her ex-boyfriend in her parents’ home, her aunt, Michelle Lynn, wrote in a Facebook post. She was just 24 years old, Donald told WDIV, noting she “had her whole life ahead of her.”

Brianna’s cousin, Alicia Lepkowski, said the shooting has traumatized her family. 

“Nobody should have to come back to the house and clean up a family member’s blood from the ground,” she told WDIV. “How do you even go on?”

According to Brianna’s obituary, her “life was her daughter and she enjoyed every minute of the 10 months she was able to raise her.”

In a GoFundMe Lepkowski set up to help support Brianna’s daughter, Kameron, and to help defray funeral expenses, she wrote that she is “praying for every woman that is going through domestic violence.”
