Lady Gaga is following her doctor’s orders and canceling her Miami show.
On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the 39-year-old “Bad Romance” singer announced she had to abruptly cancel her performance just minutes before she was set to take the stage.
“Hi everyone, I am really so so sorry but I need to postpone tonight’s show in Miami,” she posted to Instagram Stories.

According to the “Abracadabra” singer, who is currently on the Mayhem Ball tour, her “voice was extremely strained” during rehearsal last night and her vocal warmup tonight.
The Wednesday actress added that she’d been advised by both her doctor and vocal coach to not go on “because of the risk it poses.”
Lady Gaga added that while it was a “hard and agonizing decision” to cancel at the last minute, she did not want to cause permanent damage to her vocal chords.
“There is a significant risk based on all our combined experience with a show like ours and as you know I sing live every night — and even though this was a hard and agonizing decision I would be more afraid of the long term implications on my voice,” she said. “I hope you can forgive me and accept my sincerest apologies for any disappointment. Let down. Inconvenience.”

Her concert was scheduled to be held at Kaseya Center, and the venue confirmed her cancellation in a social media post. “Unfortunately, tonight’s performance of the mayhem ball has been postponed,” the venue wrote on its Instagram account, adding, “During her warmup tonight lady gaga experienced significant vocal strain and has been advised by her ent not to perform.”
The venue also shared that “information on the rescheduled date and the process for refunds will be issued soon.”

Lady Gaga has been making headlines for her buzzy performances throughout her Mayhem Ball tour. At the end of August, she broke down in tears onstage while revealing the pep-talk her fiancé, Michael Polansky, gave her before going on.
“I think about walking on the concrete, going all around the city and just — I remember fighting really hard, fighting really hard for my dreams and what I believed in and for myself,” she told the audience in her hometown of New York City.

“I was with my friend China before the show… and I said to her, ‘I think I might just fight my way through this whole show, ‘cause when I’m in New York, I fight. I gotta earn it, and I gotta go for it,’” she continued.
Getting emotional, Lady Gaga later added, “Right before I came onstage, my fiancé, Michael, said, ‘When you go out there, let them fill you up.’”
