  • The Princess of Wales previously wore the letter necklace in April

Kate Middleton slipped on something special connected to her children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, at her latest royal engagement.

On Sept. 4, the Princess of Wales, 43, returned to royal duties following a summer break with a visit to the Natural History Museum’s new gardens with Prince William.

While all eyes were on Princess Kate’s newly blonde hair (her most dramatic hair transformation ever!) when she stepped out, her new hair hue wasn’t the only striking aspect of her look.

The Princess of Wales wore a delicate gold necklace featuring charms of her children’s initials, with the letters “C” and “L” visible. She also layered up by adding another chain necklace.

Kate most recently sported the custom accessory during a trip to the Scottish isles of Mull and Iona with William in April, which fan blogs identified as the Gold Fixed Alphabet Necklace by Daniella Draper.

The piece has been in her royal rotation since 2021, and the children’s initials are represented in their birth order.

She layered it in April with her bespoke Gold Midnight Moon necklace, also by Daniella Draper, a British brand. Princess Kate had the pendant necklace engraved with G, C and L and stars, making it a sentimental piece that has been in her jewelry box since at least 2020.

The Prince and Princess of Wales are parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, 7, and the royal couple’s public appearance at the Natural History Museum was their first since their children headed back to school on Sept. 3.

It’s a sentimental year ahead for George, Charlotte and Louis, as this year will be the last that all three kids are enrolled at the Lambrook School. The trio has attended the coeducational prep school since 2022, but Prince George will age out of Lambrook when he turns 13 next summer.
