Jennifer Lopez Wears Boho-Chic Outfit with $45K Birkin Bag

Jennifer Lopez‘s latest look proves that fashion rules are made to be broken.

The pop star, 55, was spotted attending a business meeting in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Sept. 3. Lopez went boho-chic in a flowing, semi-sheer white Chloé top with ruffled sleeves. She paired the gauzy top with flare jeans.

The “Waiting for Tonight” singer piled on the accessories and wore two gold chains around her neck, hoop earrings, large brown square-framed sunglasses and chunky brown heels.

Lopez’s outfit broke the “no white after Labor Day” rule, as her outing came two days after the holiday, which marks the symbolic end of summer. The rule dates back to the 19th century and was founded by old-money circles in the Northeast to differentiate themselves from the nouveau riche trying to infiltrate the social elite.

The singer, however, doubled down on wearing white with a matching crocodile Hermés Birkin bag, estimated to retail between $45,000 and $75,000, according to Sotheby’s, to complete the look.

Lopez is no stranger to wearing daring fashion looks. The singer famously inspired the creation for Google Images by wearing a bold green Versace gown that plunged to her belly button at the 2000 Grammy Awards.

In recent weeks, the pop star has shared several of her outfit choices off the stage. On Aug. 11, Lopez shared a carousel of images that featured her wearing a skin-tight turtleneck body suit. Instead of pairing the look with pants, Lopez opted for sheer black floral-print stockings and pointed black heels.

She completed the look with multiple gold bracelets and rings, as well as a black beret.

Earlier that month, Lopez went to Egypt and flirted with wearing even higher heels. In one of the images from her carousel post, she paired a flirty sundress and floral straw hat with sky-high platform heels in a chocolate brown patent leather.

“Felt cute in Egypt,” she captioned the photo set.

Lopez’s current style ethos centers on feeling comfortable in her skin, regardless of perceived fashion rules and trends.

“I think the key is to always authentically be yourself and [do] what feels good to you in the moment, whether that’s something that’s older that you’ve done before, and classic, or something that’s totally new,” she said in a May interview with InStyle. “It just has to feel right for me right now.”
