Decomposed body spotted floating in polluted NYC waterway: cops


The decomposed body of an unidentified man was found floating in a polluted waterway in Queens Thursday morning, cops said. 

The man – whose age was not immediately known – was discovered face-down in the Newtown Creek just off Malt Drive in Long Island City around 8:40 a.m., police said. 

He was pronounced dead at the scene by responding EMS workers.

His official cause of death will be determined by the city medical examiner’s office. 

The grisly discovery comes about two months after popular Big Apple DJ Reda Briki, 52, was found dead on a houseboat docked at Railroad and Greenpoint avenues in the Newtown Creek Marina, sources said.

Briki’s cause and manner of death are pending further study.
