Baron Davis Feels Bad for His ‘DWTS’ Partner Britt Stewart’s Husband (Exclusive)

It might be too early to tell if Baron Davis is taking home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy on season 34 of Dancing with the Stars, but one award he’s already won is the respect of his coach’s real-life partner.

On Wednesday, Sept. 3, the NBA star was announced as one of the 14 celebrity competitors eyeing the grand prize on the newest season of Dancing with the Stars, set to premiere Tuesday, Sept. 16.

The former basketball player is paired with Britt Stewart, who recently wed actor Daniel Durant at Riata Ranch in Santa Margarita, California, on Saturday, Aug. 23.

Speaking to PEOPLE following the season 34 DWTS cast reveal on Good Morning America, Stewart says that she’s spent her newlywed life so far with Davis, but thankfully Durant doesn’t mind.

“The good news is Daniel is a massive fan, so he is willingly like, ‘Go to rehearsal. Please tell Baron hi for me,’ ” she says. Davis is forever grateful for this, but he’s also fully aware of the situation.

“I’m going to make it up to you, Daniel. I’m going to make it up to him. I’m going to take him to games. Whatever I can do,” Davis tells PEOPLE. “I’m going to make it up.”

“He will faint and yes, he will be so happy,” says Stewart, to which Davis replies, “We can fan out over each other too.”

Stewart and Durant tied the knot just one day short of exactly three years since they met on season 31 of DWTS.

Among the 110 wedding guests was DWTS “family,” including judge Derek Hough and his pregnant wife Hayley Erbert, who was maid of honor, co-hosts Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro, and Stewart’s season 29 dance partner Johnny Weir, who was a bridesmaid.

The new bride previously told PEOPLE that she never imagined what her wedding would be like.

“I was never the little girl that had big dreams of a fairy-tale wedding. So when I describe our wedding, I want it to feel like an abundance of love connecting everyone there,” she said.
